Meet the characters from Inuyasha
Inuyasha
Inuyasha is the big, gruff half-demon who somehow steals every scene even when he’s sulking in a tree (classic). He’s brash, stubborn, and always ready to jump into a fight — but also the kind of person who hides his soft side with a scowl and a sarcastic comment. He waves Tessaiga around like a metal temper tantrum and yet will drop everything to protect the people he cares about, which is honestly kinda melted-my-heart territory. He claims he hates affection and romance but then gets blushingly awkward at the slightest compliment, which is adorable and annoying all at once. Also, random little fact: he definitely has a weird shoe habit? Don’t ask, it’s a thing.
Kagome Higurashi
Kagome is the modern shrine-girl who barrels through feudal Japan with a bow, a moral compass, and zero patience for nonsense (love that). She’s compassionate and level-headed but also impulsive in that weird, relatable way — like she knows exactly what to do and then yells instead of doing it sometimes. A natural leader who shoots arrows and also lectures people about manners, which is honestly a power combo; also she reads, probably, and forgets to sleep occasionally. She can be heartbreakingly empathetic and also petty, like she remembers every slight but forgives you with suspiciously little time. Oh and she always manages to be marginally less dramatic than everyone else — except when she isn’t.
Miroku
Miroku is the roguish monk with the cursed hand and a pervy grin that makes you simultaneously groan and trust him with your life (what a weird package). He’s clever, slippery, and annoyingly practical — will haggle his way out of danger and somehow make it sound spiritual, which is impressive. The Wind Tunnel is scary as hell but he treats it like a budget problem: “I’ll save the world after tea,” said no one except Miroku. He flirts obnoxiously but is deeply loyal and has actual moral backbone under that flirtatious exterior, like a soft center in a sarcastic shell. Also he collects weird little trinkets and counts his coins with suspiciously fond eyes — money monk, apparently.
Sango
Sango is the fierce demon slayer who carries grief and loyalty like armor and looks epic while doing it (Hiraikotsu, forever iconic). She’s stoic and disciplined but not a robot — she has a dry sense of humor and will absolutely roast you if you deserve it. Protectiveness is her default setting; she takes care of people and also refuses help half the time, which makes sense if you live with Miroku’s terrible timing. She loves cute things in secret (plushies? tiny tea sets? who knows) and also has a soft spot for the weirdest creatures, which contradicts her “only demons” professional vibe. Also sometimes she cries in the bathtub? Probably.
Shippo
Shippo is the tiny fox kid who is 90% mischief and 10% existential angst but in the cutest way possible — he steals food and hearts. He tries so hard to be brave (and fails often), but then surprises everyone by being genuinely helpful when it counts, which is the best kind of character growth. He uses illusions like a prankster and also like a heartfelt little brother who wants attention, and his jealousy and sincerity are both painfully real. He collects weird small treasures (shiny pebbles? cookies?) and will tell you a dramatic story about each one, sometimes inconsistently remembering details, but that’s just Shippo being Shippo.
Kirara
Kirara is the two-tailed demon cat who is pure stoic guardian energy — she purrs maybe once every blue moon, otherwise she’s all business (but still fluffy). She transforms into a flying beast and becomes the team’s implicit mode of transportation and silent moral compass, and also the only one who can give side-eye with actual authority. Loyal to a fault, she shows affection through actions not words — like sitting on your bag when you’re having a breakdown, which is both unhelpful and incredibly supportive. She likes napping in inconvenient places and possibly judges your life choices, but also occasionally plays with bubbles for no reason. Also: eats approximately one and a half treats per hour, scientifically unverified.
