Meet the characters from Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon
Towa Higurashi
Towa is the earnest, responsible twin who somehow manages to be both super mature and adorably awkward about feelings — like, she’ll plan a rescue mission and then get flustered over a stray rice ball. She’s steady, clever, and wears that “I’ll handle it” vibe like armor, but she also hoards little trinkets and has an inexplicable collection of tiny clocks. Time-travel baggage? Yes. Also, she’s surprisingly competitive about card games, which is wild for someone who acts like the team mom.
Setsuna
Setsuna is the quiet, blade-first twin who’s a walking mystery wrapped in demon-slaying focus; she barely smiles and then it actually means something. She’s disciplined, laser-focused, and can ghost through a battlefield like she’s not even there, but give her a puppy or a small child and she’ll melt in three seconds flat — don’t ask how that works. She has memory scars and an old-soul seriousness but also awkwardly keeps a stash of sweet snacks like a tiny, salt-scarved teddy bear.
Moroha
Moroha is the loud, take-no-prisoners half-demon bounty hunter who flirts with danger and everything else, honestly she’s just chaotic-fun energy in human form. She loves money, ramen, and crashing into situations headfirst, but somehow has a soft, protective streak that pops up when you least expect it — like a grumpy cat who brings you dead fish as a gift. She brags a lot, tells tall tales, and then blushes if you call her out, which is both infuriating and endearing.
Hisui
Hisui gives off calm-shrine-vibe meets quietly competent sidekick — soothing voice, tidy robes, probably knows where everyone left their swords. He’s practical and kind, the sort of person who makes tea and solves a crisis before you know it, although he’ll also drop a very dry joke at the wrong moment and ruin the mood (on purpose?). He has tiny hobbies that don’t fit the job, like knitting or memorizing cloud shapes, and is way more surprisingly fierce than he lets on.
Gyokuto
Gyokuto is that roguish merchant/spy type who sells you a mysterious trinket and also then saves your life for free, which is suspiciously convenient. He’s charming, slippery, and untrustable in the best possible way — full of stories, some true, some embellished, and all delivered with a theatrical eyebrow raise. He loves gossip, tiny origami boats, and may or may not be keeping a ledger of people’s secrets just because it’s “useful.”
Kin’u
Kin’u is the ornate, polished artisan/swordsman type who cares about craftsmanship like it’s a religion and will polish a blade until it sings. Stoic but with weird little flourishes — humming while he works, arranging tea leaves in patterns — he’s surprisingly dramatic about quiet things. He’s loyal to a fault, annoyingly precise, and also the kind of person who will rescue stray birds and insist they’re fine while secretly feeding them candied chestnuts at midnight.
Hisui
Okay yes another Hisui because come on, he’s memorable — this one acts like the resident gentle giant who knows ancient poems and how to fix a broken gate with duct tape and prayer. He’s soft-spoken, patient, and weirdly into arranging pebbles by moonlight, yet can flip into protector-mode in half a blink, which is both adorable and a little terrifying. He forgets birthdays but remembers tiny, embarrassing details about your childhood; charmingly inconsistent, basically human.
Takechiyo
Takechiyo is the pint-sized sprite of the group — mischievous, chatty, and somehow more trouble than he looks, which is a lot because he looks tiny. He collects weird insects, calls everyone ridiculous nicknames, and will absolutely steal your hat and then demand it back like a monarch. He’s brave in a small, startling way, and will run toward danger yelling something like “Wait, did you bring snacks?” which is both useless and heroic.
