Meet the Demon Slayers from Kimetsu No Yaiba

Yoriichi Tsugikuni

Yoriichi is the quiet, almost mythic genius of Demon Slayer — the kind of person who makes everyone else look like they’re standing in the sun and he is the sun itself (too dramatic? maybe, but it fits). He’s gentle and precise, with this tragic, lonely air like he remembers centuries and also forgot where he left his tea cup. His skills are otherworldly but he never brags, which only makes him more intimidating — calm, haunted, impossibly kind but slightly awkward in conversation. Oh and he hums lullabies off-key when nobody’s watching, which is somehow both soothing and unsettling.

Gyomei Himejima

Gyomei is the big, soft-hearted mountain of a man who also happens to be the strongest Pillar — intimidating in armor, tender in a shrine-like way. He’s blind, deeply spiritual, carries prayer beads and a sense of gentle duty that makes you want to both salute and sit with him for tea. He cries at small things (flowers, memories, probably receipts) and will wring out your problems like they’re wet laundry — compassionate but unshakably formidable. Also rumor has it he hides snacks in his robes; can’t confirm, but imagine the pockets.

Giyu Tomioka

Giyu is the cool, silent river — stoic on the surface, but powerful currents underneath, very much the “I do my duty, don’t ask me about feelings” type. He has that deadpan vibe, hates small talk, will stare at you like he’s solving a mystery and also forgets compliments. Super reliable, slightly tense about rules, but secretly (or not-so-secretly) soft when it comes to protecting people — very quietly heroic. He also may own a ton of mismatched socks? I could be making that up but it feels right.

Sanemi Shinazugawa

Sanemi is pure thunderstorms and sharp edges — gruff, loud, abrasive, and absolutely terrifying at first, but with this weird, stubbornly fierce loyalty to the people he cares about. He screams a lot, insult as cardio, and then smuggles cookies to family members when no one’s looking (yes, that’s his soft crime). Deeply scarred in more ways than one, he hates demons with a passion that sometimes looks like hatred for everyone else, but he’s actually protective to a fault. Also, he probably collects bandages like trophies? Don’t ask how that started.

Muichiro Tokito

Muichiro is the dreamy teenager who zoned out during life and accidentally became a prodigy — very aloof, forgetful, way more competent than his shrugging implies. He floats through scenes like a fog, then slices through problems with laser focus, which is the best kind of “was he even paying attention?” energy. Emotionally distant but not cold, it’s like he misplaced his memories and also a pair of gloves, but shows up when it truly matters. He might name clouds and be very proud of it.

Kyojuro Rengoku

Kyojuro is a walking sunbeam — enthusiastic, loud, noble, and the kind of person who gives speeches before breakfast and means every single word. He’s fiery in spirit (and hair), committed to justice and the kind of earnest optimism that makes you cheer even during spoilers. Brave to the core, he lives big and dies with honor, and honestly you’ll probably remember his smile before you remember anything else. He also eats like a championship wrestler? Giant appetite, massive heart, zero shame.

Tengen Uzui

Tengen is all flash, glitter, and absurd confidence — flamboyant ex-ninja energy with a love for the dramatic that borders on performance art. He talks loud, moves loud, wears more accessories than anyone should and somehow pulls it off, and yes, he thinks everything needs sparkle (including strategy). Fiercely protective of his squad and family, he’s not just showy — he’s a calculated, brutal force when things go south. Also smells like cologne and fireworks, in the best possible way.

Mitsuri Kanroji

Mitsuri is pure, bright confetti of feelings — bubbly, affectionate, unbelievably strong (like, “how is she doing that?” strong) and also surprisingly vulnerable. She adores people openly, will cry from cuteness overload, and then save the day with ridiculous muscle; there’s a lovely contradiction in her softness and her absolute combat power. Her voice is sugar and chaos, and she is probably the person who hugs an enemy if there’s a miscommunication. Quirk: she has terrible taste in snacks but is fiercely proud of it.

Tanjiro Kamado

Tanjiro is the earnest, kind-hearted grinder who smells things and immediately knows your childhood — empathetic to a fault, tireless, and stubbornly hopeful even when hope is ridiculous. He carries trauma like a backpack but also a sense of kindness like a torch, always trying to understand people (including demons? yes, complicated vibes). Terrible at pretending to be cool, amazing at being human — he cries, he trains, he forgives, and then he wins (or learns). Also, he really, genuinely loves his sister and probably makes porridge like it’s a sacred ritual.

Obanai Iguro

Obanai is all tight lines and hiss — snakelike, severe, and untrusting, with a literal serpent companion and a wardrobe that screams “I have rules.” He’s rigid about order and loyalty, speaks in clipped tones, and has this strange, possessive softness that leaks out when he thinks nobody’s looking. Kind of cold but actually very dedicated, like a watchful sentinel who also writes poetry at 2 a.m. (maybe, yes/no). Also he probably rolls his sleeves before every conversation — ritual behavior, 100%.

Shinobu Kocho

Shinobu is the sweetest deadliest thing — tiny, smiling, and soft-spoken with a bedside manner that makes you trust her, and also she literally uses poison as a hobby. She’s a walking paradox: warm demeanor, razor-sharp intellect, and a scientific obsession with clever ways to defeat bigger foes — like, cute aprons with lethal chemistry. She hates cruelty but channels anger into experiments and precise revenge, which is impressive and a little unnerving. Fun detail: she bakes tea cakes that are suspiciously very educational about toxins (and very tasty?).
