About “Babylon 5” in a few words:

Babylon 5 is a science fiction television series that aired from 1993 to 1998. Set in the 23rd century, the show revolves around a space station named Babylon 5, where various alien species coexist and interact with each other. The series explores themes such as diplomacy, politics, religion, and war, and follows the lives of a diverse cast of characters who work on the station. Babylon 5 was praised for its complex storytelling, world-building, and character development, and is considered a cult classic in the sci-fi genre.

Meet the characters from Babylon 5

Lennier

Lennier is quietly intense — like the soft-spoken friend who will stab you with loyalty rather than a knife, and he absolutely means it. He’s Delenn’s shadow and right-hand, endlessly devoted and a little awkward with praise (you can see him rehearsing compliments in the mirror). Bookish, patient, sometimes poetically sad, and oddly handy with weapons — very contradictory, I know, but that’s the charm. He collects tiny meaningless trinkets (spoons? seashells? stamps? I forget) and will surprise you by blinking into sudden emotion and then going statue-still again.

Michael Garibaldi

Garibaldi is the gruff, nicotine-stained backbone of Babylon 5 — security chief, cynic-in-chief, and professional survivor. He runs on coffee, instinct, and a terrifying network of paranoia that somehow keeps everyone alive. He’s sarcastic and blunt but has a ridiculous soft spot for people (and maybe an old dog he talks to when stressed — maybe not). Messy desk, immaculate results (or was it the other way around?), he’s loyal, stubborn, complicated, and completely human.

Londo Mollari

Londo is big, loud, dramatic, and you’d take him to every party just to watch him emote — theatrics are basically his cardio. A Centauri who adores wine, pageantry, and long, exaggerated stories, he makes you laugh and then feel slightly guilty for laughing. He chases power like it’s a lost lover, will cry into a pastry, bargain with questionable folks, and later wonder who he’s become. Terribly loyal, terribly petty, and painfully tragic underneath the powdered wigs and flamboyant speeches.

G’Kar

G’Kar bursts into a room like an earthquake and, years later, will hand you a poem and a cup of suspicious tea with equal passion. He’s proud, loud, furious — a warrior who also becomes weirdly philosophical (yes, he loves poetry; yes, he’s intimidating; contradictions!). Fiercely devoted to his people, blunt as a hammer, and not shy about calling out hypocrisy with theatrical fury. Brutal and tender in odd measures, he keeps surprising you with grief, wit, and weird snack hoards for morale.

Vir Cotto

Vir is the adorably bemused assistant who somehow grows into his own person — soft-spoken, kind, and accidentally brave. He’s polite to a fault, awkward in politics, and has this stubborn moral compass that somehow wins more votes than his boss’ speeches. Clumsy with jokes (and sometimes literally clumsy), he keeps a tea cozy in his drawer and makes terrible puns at the worst times — but it’s endearing. He’s quietly heroic in that “whoops, I did the right thing” way and it makes you cheer every time.

Dr. Stephen Franklin

Dr. Franklin is the grumpy, dedicated medical officer who will tell you the truth, stitch you up, and then sigh because feelings are messy. Brilliant, compassionate, and occasionally bitter, he’s the kind of doctor who carries the station on his shoulders and then forgets to eat. He’s professional in the ER and chaotic in his personal life (the bottle? the loneliness? yeah, that), and he hides a dry, dark sense of humor under the stethoscope. He will save you, scold you for not washing your hands, and probably make a sarcastic remark while doing it.

Delenn

Delenn is serene, mysterious, and wholly commanding — the kind of leader who makes you feel calmer just by existing, then totally upends your worldview with one sentence. Wise, spiritual, fiercely determined, she’s diplomat, prophet, and secret-keeper, and she tucks important things into pockets like glittering stones (or half-moon earrings — guilty!). Gentle as incense, sudden as a blade, patient but utterly resolute; don’t assume calm equals weakness. She transforms people and politics with eerie grace, and yes, she probably has the best tea on the station.
