Meet the characters from Alice in Borderland

Ryohei Arisu

Arisu is the kind of hero who starts out a daydreaming slacker and somehow becomes heartbreakingly sensible? He overthinks everything (video games forever, honestly) but when the chips are down he’s weirdly good at making ruthless, logical calls — then immediately apologizes for being blunt. He’s anxious and brave in the same breath, like a kid who learned to grown-up overnight but still keeps snack wrappers in his pockets. Also, he has this habit of humming to himself at the worst possible moments and you can totally imagine him crying over a sentimental movie — and then solving a life-or-death puzzle five minutes later.

Yuzuha Usagi

Usagi is a survival-machine wrapped in a tomboyish smile and it’s impossible not to love her grit. She moves like a cat, can climb anything, and somehow remembers everyone’s names (she’s annoyingly organized, but also leaves things everywhere, go figure). She’s fiercely loyal, makes snap decisions that actually make sense, and has this tiny soft spot for small, obscure comforts — like saving a thermos or collecting weird rocks. She argues with you, then cooks you something, and you suspect she cries quietly at night but would absolutely deny it.

Chishiya

Chishiya is slick, unnervingly calm, and the kind of person who plays three moves ahead just because it’s fun; he treats people like chess pieces but sometimes buys them coffee? He’s brilliant, sarcastic, and morally flexible in a way that’s both terrifying and magnetic (also, he wears that smug half-smile a lot). He’ll make a ruthless observation and then drop an oddly tender anecdote that makes you rethink everything he said five seconds ago. Honestly, you can’t tell if he’s cynical for show or if there’s actually a soft core buried under layers of manipulation — either way, he’s brilliant.

Daikichi Karube

Karube is the big-loud-best-friend stereotype but also ridiculously tender when it matters, like a gentle wrecking ball. He’s loud, he eats a lot, he’s the impulsive one who’ll punch a wall for his friends but also comes up with the simplest, most effective plan sometimes (which annoys everyone, naturally). Smokes and jokes and boasts he’s invincible, yet he has this small, quiet worry about being useful and it makes him oddly sweet. He’s both the comic relief and the emotional anchor — and yes, he probably cried in a shower once, I’m not making that up.

Chota

Chota is the tiny heart of the group — nervous, goofy, borderline chaos, but brave in the weirdest, most accidental way. He’s the one who trips at the worst times, says the wrong thing, and still somehow sticks around when it counts; you root for him even when he’s being a bumbling goof. He hoards snacks like it’s a hobby and will make a terrible pun while escaping a trap, which somehow lightens everything. He’s scared of everything (even shadows) yet will face down danger because his loyalties are that stubbornly huge.

Aguni

Aguni is all discipline and lethal calm, like a walking resolve machine with a surprisingly poetic streak (yes, he can stare at a sunrise and still criticize your plan). He’s unflinching, immensely skillful, and has honor in every move — but also weirdly enjoys small comforts, like exactly the right cup of tea, which feels contradictory and therefore perfect. He’s pragmatic to a fault, rarely jokes, yet when he does it lands and it’s terrifyingly dry. You trust him to be the final wall or the last blade standing; he’ll save you and then critique your footwear.
