About “Monsters, Inc.” in a few words:

“Monsters, Inc.” is a heartwarming animated film produced by Pixar Animation Studios. Set in Monstropolis, a city powered by children’s screams, it follows the adventures of Sulley and Mike, top scarers at Monsters, Inc., as they navigate challenges and uncover conspiracies. Their world is turned upside down when a human child named Boo enters their realm, leading to both hilarious and touching moments.

Meet the characters from Monsters, Inc.

James P. “Sulley” Sullivan

Sulley is the big, fluffy legend of Monsters, Inc. — giant heart, giant paws, top-tier scarer turned accidental softie, and honestly I’m still not over how he hugs a tiny human and it works. He’s a leader who trips over his own tail sometimes, deeply loyal to his friends and inexplicably fond of humming in the shower (or was it humming while driving? memory fuzzy). Has a goofy sense of humor, a mound of purple spots, and a secret stash of blueberry muffins or maybe it’s carrot sticks, depends on the day. He wants to be scary and then also really doesn’t, which is the best part — internal conflict and a fur coat, come on.

Mike Wazowski

Mike is pure, unfiltered ENERGY with one gloriously determined eyeball and a thousand motivational speeches queued up. He’s Sulley’s sidekick but also the schemer, the planner, the guy with color-coded goals and an ego the size of a filing cabinet — also somehow the softest when it counts. Obsessed with his cap (won’t leave the house without it) and with making lists, yet somehow his desk is a disaster zone half the week; classic Mike. He yells, he jokes, he panics, he comforts — a chaotic little green storm of loyalty and performative bravado.

Boo

Boo is a tiny powerhouse of nonsense and sweetness who basically rearranges the entire monster world by existing. She speaks in adorable babble, eats anything that looks soft (including, possibly, a monster’s shoe), and has the uncanny ability to melt hardened scarers with one crooked smile. She’s fearless in a way that’s confusing and brilliant, hides in pocket fur like it’s a secret clubhouse, and leaves behind a trail of mystery (and a stuffed bear that becomes extremely important). Somehow wise and bafflingly stubborn, she is the heart that happens to be in pigtails.

Randall Boggs

Randall is slick, slippery, and absolutely the kind of villain who practices evil smiles in the mirror — chameleon skin, razor-sharp ambition, and the quiet, competitive vibe that makes every scene tense. He wants to be top scarer at any cost, invents creepy tech, and sneaks around corners like he’s auditioning for “Most Sinister.” Deep down? Probably insecure, like, a lot — which makes him stabby and dramatic and oddly tragic. Also has a weirdly tidy lair and possibly a collection of tiny, inexplicable trophies (or belts? I keep mixing them up).

Roz

Roz is all paperwork, all the time, and she watches you with that legendary deadpan stare like the universe’s most effective surveillance system. She appears grumpy and bureaucratic (and she is), but secretly runs the place with iron-clad competence — nothing slips past Roz. She mutters things under her breath, collects ugly mugs or stamps or something equally small and fierce, and will absolutely scold you into being better. Also, she laughs once in a while when no one’s looking, and that is peak Roz.
