Meet the characters from Pokémon Horizons

Captain Pikachu

Okay, Captain Pikachu is the absolute peak of “surprisingly intimidating tiny guy” energy — like, he’s wearing a captain’s hat and has the kind of growly bark that makes you take orders even if you’re twice his size. He’s a bossy little storm of confidence and snacks (seriously, he hoards biscuits and also will plan a full naval strategy between bites). There’s this weird combo of gruff commander and doting pet-parent that makes him unpredictable — one second issuing commands, the next fussing over a scruffed sleeve. Also I’m pretty sure he has a cape he shouldn’t have but does, and I love it.

Friede

Friede reads like the quiet storm personified — stoic, kind of tragic, the sort who carries past weight on their shoulders and looks awesome doing it (bandages? maybe, yes). She’s steady and sharp and you can tell she won’t be the first to speak but when she does everyone listens, and yet she has this tiny habit of humming to herself when nervous, which is wildly endearing. She’s complicated in a way that makes you want to unpack her backstory immediately, but also respects boundaries, like she would never overshare unless it’s absolutely necessary. Oh and I swear she collects tiny pebbles? Or maybe that was someone else, but I like the idea.

Hogator

Hogator is chaotic in the best way — big, bouncy, loves to eat, and somehow manages to be both clumsy and stealthy depending on the mood (contradictions!!!). He’s the “muscle with a soft heart” archetype who will defend his friends with a roar and then get distracted by a leaf for ten minutes, which is simultaneously heroic and comedic. There’s this gentle lumbering presence that makes everything feel safer, but don’t underestimate his cunning; he’s smarter than he looks, probably quite fond of spreadsheets? (kidding… maybe). Also, he insists on nicknaming everyone, sometimes persistently wrong names, and you let him because he’s adorable.

Liko

Liko is sunshine and curiosity in human form — basically the person who runs toward the weird light instead of away from it, and you’re immediately jealous of that fearlessness. She’s bright, determined, a little impulsive, and has that “I’ll fix it with optimism” vibe which is equal parts inspiring and slightly terrifying if you’re her friend. She collects stories like other people collect shoes, and is constantly dragging everyone into new adventures with a grin. Also, she seems like she can remember a million tiny facts but forgets where she put her hat five minutes ago, which is very Liko.

Nyahoja

Nyahoja is this mysterious, serene presence who feels like a midnight ocean — calm, deep, possibly hiding glittering secrets and also an excellent baker (don’t ask why I think that, it just fits). She speaks softly but with authority, and you suspect she’s been around longer than she admits, the kind of friend who gives you exactly the advice you didn’t know you needed. She has odd habits (tea at dawn? rearranging herbs while plotting?) that are charming and slightly uncanny, and yes she might prank you with a plant-based illusion once in a while. Honestly, she’s comfort with an edge, a little mythical and very dependable.

Roy

Roy is the resident schemer who’s charming enough to get away with things and painfully stylish while doing it — think smooth smile, clever comebacks, and a tendency to overplan but then improvise better than anyone. He’s ambitious and competitive, sometimes a sore loser, yet he genuinely cares and will go out of his way for his crew (and then act like he didn’t). There’s a roguish warmth to him; he’s the type who’d steal your dessert and then buy you a better one, that sort of complicated darling. Also, he collects weird badges from places he’s definitely never been — fashion or fibbing? choose your adventure.
