About “Edens Zero” in a few words:

Edens Zero is a Japanese manga and anime series created by Hiro Mashima, the same creator of Fairy Tail. The story follows a young boy named Shiki Granbell, who lives among robots on a deserted theme park planet. When a human girl named Rebecca and her talking cat companion Happy arrive on the planet, Shiki sets off on a journey to explore the vast universe and find his place in the world. Along the way, he meets a diverse cast of characters and battles powerful enemies, all while uncovering the mysteries of his own past.

Meet the characters from Edens Zero

Shiki Granbell

Shiki is this ridiculous ball of optimism who treats every new planet like a theme park and somehow makes friends with robots, monsters, and maybe your weird neighbor too. He’s brave without being annoying about it — well, okay, sometimes he’s annoyingly brave, but that’s kind of the point, right? Has a heroic streak that’s almost embarrassingly pure, and also this weird habit of learning five new useless facts mid-battle and then forgetting them. He loves adventure food? Or hates it? I can’t remember, but he definitely eats a lot and smiles the whole time.

Rebecca Bluegarden

Rebecca is the lively, camera-wielding B-Cuber who insists on documenting everything and also spilling snacks on the couch while editing montages, truly a multi-tasking chaos queen. She’s sweet and naggy in the best way — like she’ll scold you for being dumb but then wink and feed you cookies, and you forgive her instantly. Surprisingly tough when it counts, and weirdly into cosplay? Or was that a dream I had about her — either way, dramatic entrances are her brand. She’s got this goofy optimism that makes her the emotional glue, even when she’s late for literally everything.

Happy

Happy is the tiny robotic cat who says more with a twitch of an ear than most people do in a chapter, and yes, he’s adorable and lethal if provoked. He’s the perfect mix of dry sarcasm (in tiny meows) and actual practical support — like, he’ll pet you and then help you plot a strategy, somehow. Loves fish, claims to be allergic to drama but actually kind of thrives on it, in a calm, judgmental way. He’s small, green-eyed, and occasionally acts like he’s the ship’s therapist, which is both unfair and accurate.

Weisz Steiner

Weisz is this grumpy, secret-soft-hearted tech whiz — slightly traumatized, extremely loyal, and forever the guy who mutters into his toolbox. He’s a mechanic with rage-management issues, loves tinkering with guns and gadgets and also probably keeps a secret scrapbook of feelings (don’t tell him I said that). He gets sarcastic real fast but will leap into danger for his friends without dramatics, which is why we quietly cry when he survives. Also, I’m pretty sure he hoards weird snacks in pockets no one asked about.

E.M. Pino

Pino is the tiny, earnest android who likes baking and hugs in equal measure and occasionally forgets what a normal day looks like because she’s that adorably robotic. She’s helpful to a fault, sometimes say-sorry too much, and tries very hard to be sensible — while also carrying a balloon collection for reasons she can’t fully explain. Don’t underestimate her though; she’s surprisingly brave and very emotional for a robot, in the best way. She’s like a pocket-sized heart with tinker-gear and a smudge of flour on her cheek at all times.

Four Shining Stars

The Four Shining Stars are pure, dramatic pop-idol energy turned spacefaring fierce — imagine sparkles and synchronized attacks, plus way too many costumes. Individually they’re a mess of confidence, rivalry, and loyalty, and together they create chaos that absolutely slays in battle (and on stage?). They argue, perform, and then team up to solve problems like it’s a musical with lasers, and I love that for them. Also, one of them definitely hides snacks under the stage; it’s canon in my heart.

Homura Kōgetsu

Homura is the sword-wielding calm center who looks like she’s meditating 24/7 but will cut a path through despair like it’s a hobby — elegant, stoic, and secretly nostalgic. She’s haunted (in the best dramatic anime way), fiercely disciplined, and somehow also a cinnamon-roll if you poke past the armor, kind of a “don’t touch until you get permission” vibe. She speaks only when necessary, which is mostly true, except when she unexpectedly rants about tea preferences and then you see her whole personality. A noble protector with a soft spot for ruined gardens and slightly too many bandages.

Mosco Versa-0

Mosco is this big, mysterious presence who gives serious “I know things you don’t” energy and probably owns at least three confusing maps of the galaxy. Calm, cryptic, and oddly paternal — or maternal? — he’s the kind of character who walks into a room and everyone nods like he’s a weather report you can’t ignore. He’s got a dry sense of humor and a file cabinet of secrets, plus a policy about visiting hours that no one understands. Somehow intimidating and oddly cuddly in fanfiction, not that I’m biased.

Kris Rutherford

Kris is quietly uncanny in the best way — a little distant, a little radiant, like living moonlight with a tragic playlist on repeat. She’s enigmatic, brilliant in a cut-glass way, and you get the feeling she knows timelines you don’t, or maybe she’s just very into antiques? Also, she’ll give you the right advice at the wrong time, which is her own kind of charm. She’s soft-spoken but when she acts, it’s precise and heartbreaking, and yes, she probably collects tiny spoons for reasons.

Laguna Husert

Laguna is the scarred, world-weary badass who says one-liners and then makes you cry thirty pages later, the classic stoic who secretly reads romance novels. He’s a veteran type who carries ghosts and bad coffee, and he can disassemble a plan with a glance or build one from gum wrappers and courage. Abrasive but fair, he has this weird hobby of sketching landscapes he swore he’d never return to, and sometimes he smiles like it’s painful. He’s the grumpy dad of the crew, in the most dramatic, emotionally complicated way possible.
