Alice

Alice is the deliciously unhinged wild card — equal parts childlike glee and razor-sharp menace, she makes you laugh and then makes you question your life choices five minutes later. She’s chaotic storytelling incarnate, with a flair for theatrics (seriously, the hats) and these tiny heartbreaking flashes of vulnerability that sneak up on you. She hoards ridiculous things like vintage teacups and broken hearts in equal measure, which makes no sense but is somehow perfect. Oh and she contradicts herself constantly, which is part of her charm — unreliable narrator vibes 100%.

Sophie Moore

Sophie is the consummate soldier with a moral compass that sometimes spins—tough, trained, and annoyingly competent, but also secretly a big softie for the people she loves. She’s got that cool, buttoned-up exterior but drops it when she’s surprised, and then you get this messy, real person underneath (yes she cries, no she won’t tell you why). Very strategic, slightly secretive, and definitely carries a weight of choices that still haunt her — also can be spontaneously goofy, which is her best defense. She’s the kind of person who’ll make you breakfast and give you a debrief at the same time.

Mary Hamilton

Mary is sunshine with a laptop, sarcastic and warm and somehow both the family anchor and a low-key investigative force of nature. She’s witty, brave in ways that don’t always look dramatic (like threading the moral needle in a town of chaos), and annoyingly good at reading people — which she uses for good and for snark. She loves food way more than she should, and will absolutely judge your takeout choice while offering emotional support. Also she’s surprisingly ferocious when pushed, which you forget until it happens and then you’re like “oh right, don’t mess with Mary.”

Colonel Jacob Kane

Colonel Kane is rigid, principled, and carries an entire wardrobe of anger-management techniques in his jawline, frankly. He’s the classic authoritarian protector — obsessed with order and control, fiercely dedicated to safety, but also secretly terrified of losing everything he’s built (which makes him both noble and sometimes unbearably stubborn). He collects little rigid routines (tie pins? very Kane) and also has this weird soft spot for old war stories that makes him nostalgic and kind of tragic. He’ll march into a boardroom in full recoil and somehow still be the dad who makes terrible sandwiches at family crisis time.

Vesper Fairchild

Vesper is glittery, complicated, and deliciously messy — part society queen, part scandal blueprint, and all kinds of fascinatingly flawed. She loves the spotlight but hates the consequences (classic), and she’s got this sharp intelligence that hides a lot of messy impulses and secrets. Perfume always lingers after she leaves and so do rumors, and she’ll charm you one minute and stab you with a rumor the next — but she’s also oddly loyal to a fault when it matters. She’s both a headline and an apology note, which makes her strangely sympathetic even when you want to roll your eyes.

Kate Kane

Kate is all discipline, heart, and a terrifyingly precise moral code — she’s a leader, a fighter, and someone who will absolutely read you a rulebook and then break it if it saves people. Tough-as-nails with a soft core (and a wardrobe of tactical scarves), she balances duty and identity in a way that keeps you rooting for her even when she’s infuriating. She writes grocery lists in code and makes vague but inspirational speeches at 2 a.m., which is both endearing and slightly exhausting. Also she’s stubborn in a heroic way, which is the main reason she gets into trouble and somehow gets out of it, too.

Mouse

Mouse is the small, brilliant heart of the tech side — earnest, awkward in the best way, and surprisingly wise for someone who lives in server racks and snack wrappers. He’s the guy who will jury-rig something impossible with duct tape and kindness, then lecture you about ethics while doing it; also, he hoards chips like it’s a full-time job. Quietly loyal, anxious, comforting — he’s the friend you don’t deserve but desperately need. And despite all that, he’s oddly fearless when it comes to defending the people he cares about, which is the absolute cutest betrayal of his timid persona.

Dana Dewitt

Dana is grounded, no-nonsense, and kind of that small-town pragmatic hero who has actually seen it all and is tired but still shows up. She’s practical and funny in a dry way, hates waste, loves a good spreadsheet (or maybe she pretends to, I’m not sure), and will call you out for nonsense with gentle menace. There’s a surprising softness under the bluntness — like she memorizes birthdays but also throws you roasted vegetables with judgment. She’s the person who will fix a flat tire at midnight and then critique your life choices over coffee, which honestly? exactly what the city needs.
