Meet the characters from Gravity Falls
Dipper Pines
Oh man, Dipper is peak anxious-hero energy — a walking journal, suspicious of everything and convinced there’s a secret behind every pinecone. He’s nerdy, earnest, and somehow both hyper-prepared and awkwardly impulsive, like he’ll plan a stakeout and then run headfirst into a mystery because curiosity won. He obsesses over clues, wears that ridiculous hat like it’s a badge of honor, and gets adorably flustered around conspiracy theories and crushes. Also very determined, stubborn as a goat, and secretly likes camping even when he pretends it’s only for research.
Grunkle Stan
Grunkle Stan is pure chaotic grandpa energy — gruff, scheming, always with a get-rich-quick plan and a smile that says “trust me… maybe don’t.” He runs the Mystery Shack like a carnival of oddities and lies, but under the bluster there’s this weirdly soft center (and also a secretive past, obviously). He delights in grungy suits, con games, and calling everyone “kiddo,” and yet you catch him doing something unexpectedly kind and you almost forgive the peddled fake crystals. Messy, loud, suspiciously sentimental and probably has a soft spot for stuffed animals even though he’d never admit it.
Mabel Pines
Mabel is a glitter grenade of joy — sweater-collecting, crush-loving, and 100% team chaos with a heart twice the size of her head. She’s endlessly optimistic, makes friendship bracelets like it’s an Olympic sport, and will defend her weirdness to the death (also to the death of your boredom). She’s quirky in the best way, prone to spontaneous crafts and dramatic emotional speeches, and somehow very wise about feelings even when she’s being totally silly. Also oscillates wildly between hyper-focused and completely forgetful, which is half the charm.
Wendy Corduroy
Wendy is the effortlessly cool teen who does not care about your drama but will totally help you if it’s actually important — laid-back, smoky-voiced, and street-smart in a flannel shirt. She works at the Shack, skateboard-in-hand, and radiates “I’ve seen weirder” energy, which is honestly calming when you’re neck-deep in supernatural nonsense. Underneath the chill vibe there’s a loyal friend who’s surprisingly perceptive and low-key brave, and sometimes she breaks out a dry joke that slaps. She also mysteriously knows way too many lumberjack facts for someone who just looks like she naps a lot.
Sheriff Blubs
Sheriff Blubs is the kind of small-town cop who’s equal parts bumbling and oddly effective — goofy on the surface but genuinely invested in the town’s safety, in his own roundabout way. He teams with Deputy Durland for the comedy duo of law enforcement, often eating snacks mid-briefing and showing up at exactly the wrong time but still getting things done. He’s affable, a little clueless, and maybe cheats at board games? Also apparently very proud of his badge, which he polishes at 2 a.m. for reasons he won’t explain.
Manly Dan
Manly Dan is basically a walking lumberjack stereotype but with layers — huge beard, louder muscles, and a booming “I LOVE NATURE” vibe, yet he surprises you by being the gentlest beefcake around. He talks tough, swings axes, probably owns an old pickup, and will challenge you to a beard-growing contest then cry at a puppy video. He’s rough around the edges but oddly sentimental, loves old tales, and maybe knits in his spare time sometimes, definitely secret knitting possibly. Also loves to tell stories that may or may not be 100% accurate.
Deputy Durland
Deputy Durland is sunshine bottled into a deputy uniform — cheery, simple, and inexplicably earnest, with a kind of dreamy loyalty to everyone (especially Manly Dan, but shh). He’s the soft-spoken partner who thinks the world is mostly good and that every problem can be solved with a handshake and a smile. Somehow unflappable, a little naive, and also very good at awkwardly showing up at the right moment, which is honestly impressive. Occasionally slips into weird metaphors about squirrels for no reason, and you love him for it.
Toby Determined
Toby Determined feels like the town’s quiet backbone — understated, oddly determined (naturally), and maybe the kind of person who fixes things before you even know they’re broken. He’s steady, practical, and gives off the whole “been through stuff but still here” vibe, which makes him trustworthy in a place full of weirdness. Not flashy, not loud, but the sort of reliable presence that somehow anchors chaotic folks like the Pines twins. Also has a secret hobby that he’ll deny, probably sculpting tiny hats for his shoes? I don’t know, but it fits.
Lazy Susan
Lazy Susan is deliciously named and even more delightfully inconsistent — sometimes she’s super helpful, sometimes she’s famously… well, lazy, which she owns with pride. She floats through town like a low-key entrepreneur who’ll sell you a pie and also forget to charge you, then show up at your door with matching socks. Sharp but sleepy, kind of mysterious in small ways, and probably has a horror movie collection she swears is “just for research.” She’s charmingly unreliable and also the person you call when you need a last-minute costume.
Grenda
Grenda is a walking declaration of loyalty — loud, huge-hearted, and protective in the best way, with a voice that rattles windows and a laugh that fills rooms. She’s Mabel’s bestie and will physically defend you from imaginary monsters, then bake you a cake immediately after like nothing happened. Fierce, goofy, and surprisingly thoughtful, she has this whole soft poetry side that pops up when you least expect it. Also likes to call everyone “sweetie” and will eat your snacks if you blink.
