Korra

Korra is this absolute force of nature — loud, determined, and kind of gloriously blunt about everything. She’s the punching-first-ask-questions-later type, which is a rhetorical way of saying she’ll probably fix your problem by punching it and then apologize (maybe). She struggles with spirituality and patience but also has this huge heart that won’t stop trying, even when it makes things worse for a minute. Also she has this messy hair/athlete aesthetic and likes spicy food, which somehow suits her chaotic energy.

Bolin

Bolin is the lovable goof who can also surprise you by being brave at the exact right weird moment, like the friend who trips but still saves the party. He cracks jokes nonstop, believes in the best in people, and has an enthusiasm level that should be illegal, honestly. He’s an earthbender with surprisingly good instincts for improvisation (and occasionally lava! yes, shock to everyone), but don’t underestimate his loyalty — he’ll stand his ground when it matters. Oh and he definitely eats muffins like they’re a competitive sport, for reasons that may or may not be canon.

Mako

Mako is the broody, responsible firebender who tries to be the sensible one and mostly succeeds unless feelings (and bad timing) get involved. He gives the classic “serious glare” energy and is low-key a softie if you catch him off-guard; also kind of dramatic about rules, which is both adorable and a headache. He used to be a cop and you can tell — stubborn, principled, always trying to hold things together even when he secretly wants to scream. Also he wears his heart on his sleeve in inconveniently intense ways, so there’s that.

Tenzin

Tenzin is the calm, slightly anxious airbending master who loves tradition, meditation, and scolding his kids (but like, lovingly). He is endlessly patient in a “deep-breath-and-let-it-go” way, until something about the honor of the Air Nomads ticks him off and then it’s quietly intense. He gives sage advice and plays the dad card with relish, though secretly he micro-manages temple schedule stuff and drinks way too much tea. There’s a serious philosophical core under that cardigan/robe thing, even if he occasionally lectures you about punctuality for an hour.

Shiro Shinobi

Shiro Shinobi is the shadowy rogue type — quiet, precise, a little theatrical, like a ninja who collects bookmarks that are a little too ornate. He’s stealthy and efficient and apparently has a fondness for folding paper cranes in his downtime (or so someone heard), which is simultaneously sweet and suspicious. He shows up exactly when needed and disappears into the fog like “who was that?” but also will complain about bad chopstick etiquette if you’re rude. There’s a mysterious vibe but also small domestic habits that make him way more relatable than he wants to be.

Naga

Naga is the best ever polar bear-dog companion: massive, loyal, and somehow both terrifying and squishy at the same time. She’ll protect Korra like it’s her job (because it is), snores like a freight train, and also insists on sitting on your lap if you let her — boundaries are optional. She has a surprisingly delicate way of handling babies and a ravenous appetite at 3 p.m. for anything soft, including stray pillows. Also her naps are legendary; if there’s a snooze trophy, she has it.

Asami Sato

Asami is the impeccably stylish genius who runs companies and also fixes engines with her bare hands, like a posh MacGyver who drinks elegant tea while welding. She’s clever, fiercely loyal, emotionally resilient, and non-bender which makes her resourcefulness sparkle even more — lots of gadgets, cars, and quietly savage comebacks. She presents like a socialite but will dive into the engine room at midnight and somehow emerge covered in grease and looking flawless about it. Also she has a soft spot for vintage fashion and terrible puns, which is the cutest contradiction.

Lin Beifong

Lin Beifong is the iron-willed chief of police who will arrest your socks if they look suspicious, a stone-faced metalbender with an absolutely devastating glare. She is unflinchingly competent, blunt to a fault, and has this tough exterior that secretly hides a complicated heart (family drama, trust issues, the works). She enforces the law and also enforces personal boundaries, which is sometimes necessary and sometimes hilarious to watch. Plus she has weirdly specific hobbies, like collecting traffic cones or something — can’t confirm, just a vibe.

Meelo

Meelo is the hyperactive whirlwind toddler/young kid who says things loudly and then laughs, possibly at his own existential impressions. He is chaotic energy incarnate: airbending flip, off-the-wall humor, and a habit of showing up where you least expect him (and often with glitter). He is surprisingly insightful in a “what the heck did he just say but it’s actually deep” way, and also will loudly announce spoilers if you don’t tie him down. He’s both adorable and mildly terror-inducing, in the best way.

Jinora

Jinora is the serene little mystic who is wise beyond her years and totally not okay with nonsense — she will stare you down and then enlighten you. She loves meditation, feathers, and ancient texts, and somehow manages to be gentle and intense simultaneously (a rare combo). She’s a natural leader, quietly fierce in spiritual matters, and occasionally embarrassed when people gush about how amazing she is (ugh, stop, she says). Also she collects tiny charms and will probably lecture you about balance while fixing your hair, no shame.
