Meet the characters from MacGyver

Angus MacGyver

Angus is the brainy improviser who can turn nothing into a solution and somehow makes duct tape look like a philosophy. He’s the calm moral center — pacifist, stubborn, annoyingly good at saying the right thing at the wrong time — and yet he’s always in the middle of explosions (how?). He’s equal parts MacGyver-y gadgetry and quietly wounded idealism, like the guy who fixes satellites and also writes terrible poetry in his spare time. Also, he makes suspiciously good coffee? (I’m serious, don’t steal his mug.)

Riley Davis

Riley is the hacker ninja with the sharp tongue and the ten-foot firewall around her feelings. She’ll melt your security system with one hand and avoid eye contact with the other, and she’s fiercely loyal in a very private way. She’s sarcastic, brilliant, and prone to dropping pop-culture one-liners mid-hack — also collects vintage game cartridges for reasons she will never explain. Sometimes aloof, sometimes unexpectedly mushy, and probably drinking huge amounts of something that’s maybe tea, maybe energy drink.

Wilt Bozer

Bozer is the big-hearted neurotic who started as comic relief and somehow became the soul of the team. He’ll bake you muffins before a mission, over-explain the recipe, and then bravely jump into danger like it’s a particularly emotional baking competition. He’s awkward and earnest and remembers everyone’s birthday like it’s a sacred duty (creepy or adorable, you decide). Also, he worships ramen and cries at commercials — not always, but sometimes.

Matty Webber

Matty is the iron-willed director who runs the Phoenix Foundation with a clipboard and a death stare, but you know she’s secretly knitting emotional support scarves. She’s all business, insanely competent, and will chew you out in public then quietly patch you up in private. She follows protocol until a friend’s life is on the line, at which point she rips up the rulebook with her bare hands — loving chaos in the most controlled way possible. Also she hoards notebooks, like every mission note is a sacred relic.

Jack Dalton

Jack is the charming, reckless con man who treats danger like a hobby and flirting like tactical reconnaissance. He’s unreliable on paper but loyal in that infuriating, ride-or-die way that makes you roll your eyes and hug him anyway. He has an absurd hat collection and swears he’s an expert at tie knots (fact-checked? maybe not). He’ll get you into trouble, get you out, and then ask if you want to do it all again.

Samantha Cage

Sam is the no-nonsense ex-operator who blends military precision with an odd soft spot for small animals and romcoms (don’t tell anyone). She’s terrifyingly competent in the field — efficient, fearless, and quietly principled — but she also has this contained loneliness that makes her rare smiles land like thunder. She leads with discipline but protects her people with a ferocity you don’t see coming. Also she definitely has a secret playlist of guilty-pleasure 80s pop for long stakeouts.

Russ Taylor

Russ is the steady, seasoned agent — the gruff, quietly funny mentor who’s been around and has the gray hairs to prove it. He’s practical to a fault, always three steps ahead with a contingency plan and an annoyed joke to match. He’s the guy who gives you a rough pep talk and then slides you his lucky pen like he’s passing on a talisman. Also rumor is he collects old watch faces and never actually sleeps past dawn — probably.

Desi Nguyen

Desi is the stylish wildcard who can be ally, antagonist, or scene-stealing sidepiece depending on mood and episode. She’s clever, uncomfortably confident, and makes moral compromises with the same ease most people tie their shoes. She loves sleek outfits, black coffee, and dramatic entrances, and she keeps tiny sentimental things (movie stubs? a toy?) that contradict how cold she seems. She might betray you and then bring you pizza as an apology — which is both infuriating and oddly effective.
