Jeter is the salty chief who’s full of one-liners and canned coffee but would jump in front of a missile for his people, no question. Loyal to a fault, gruff, practical, and the kind of mechanic who can jury-rig a miracle out of duct tape and stubbornness — and he’ll brag about it while doing it. There’s a soft center under the snark; he collects nuts-and-bolts like most people collect mugs, which is hilarious and probably not healthy. He claims to hate paperwork but also alphabetizes his tool chest, so, you know, balance.

Alisha is brilliant, intense, and a science nerd who can explain viruses like bedtime stories — thrilling and a little terrifying in equal measure. Compassionate and relentlessly curious, she’s the one who’ll argue for a risky test because there’s a chance it saves people, while also being weirdly into vintage comic books and losing her keys constantly. She’s got this adorable habit of doodling molecules on napkins and then throwing them away, and sometimes she’s all professional and clinical and then bursts into this very human laugh that makes everyone relax.
