Welcome to Quiz: Which 'Crash Landing on You' Character Are You

About “Crash Landing on You” in a few words:

Crash Landing on You is a romantic-comedy K-drama that tells the story of a South Korean chaebol heiress, Yoon Se-ri, who accidentally crash lands in North Korea while paragliding. There, she meets and falls in love with a North Korean officer, Ri Jeong-hyuk, and the two must navigate their complicated and dangerous relationship while trying to find a way for Se-ri to return home. The series was praised for its strong performances, compelling storyline, and the chemistry between its lead actors, Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin.

Meet the characters from Crash Landing on You

Yoon Se-ri

Oh my gosh Se-ri — the electric, impeccably-dressed tornado of the show. She’s sharp, brash, wildly ambitious and somehow also the softest human when she lets her guard down (which is NOT often, but when it happens, wow). She’ll buy an entire boutique on impulse and then crash on a straw mattress like it’s completely normal; designer bag one minute, muddy boots the next — iconic. Also, she has this ridiculous habit of talking to her phone like it’s a person and yes I love that about her.

Ri Jeong-hyeok

Okay, Jeong-hyeok is the quiet, stoic hero who is basically made of rules and very polite danger. He’s rigid and principled and then, plot twist, he’ll do something utterly reckless for the right reasons — like the world’s most gentlemanly rebel. He gives off this calm-tea vibe but also stares at sunsets like a secret romantic and maybe overuses handkerchiefs? (Not saying for sure, but possibly.) He protects people like it’s his job, which it kind of is, and it’s impossible not to root for him.

Seo Dan

Seo Dan is peak “cold, poised heiress” with a surprisingly big, awkward heart if you pry the lacquered exterior open. She’s proud, proud, proud — then, undercut by tiny moments where she’s hilariously clumsy or accidentally vulnerable and you melt. She’s a walking list of contradictions: formal speeches and then snack-hoarding in private, icy smile one second and puppy-like exasperation the next. Also — low-key fashion queen but sometimes she eats instant noodles at 3 a.m., which is both tiny and real.

Gu Seung-jun

Gu Seung-jun (Alberto, please) is the smooth-talking, sunglasses-at-night charmer who lives in the grayest moral outfit possible. He’s flashy, loves the limelight, and has this magnetic self-love but you can tell there’s a shame-cloud he can’t shake — makes him fascinating not just sleazy. He’ll make you a grand gesture and then ghost for a week; very dramatic, very human, very exhausting in the best soap-operatic way. Also he probably carries a little note to remind himself to call his mother — or maybe that’s in my head, I dunno, it feels right.

Pyo Chi-soo

Pyo Chi-soo is just the most adorably awkward romantic friend who is earnest to a fault and quietly hilarious. He seems shy and a little reserved but has this relentless, sincere loyalty that sneaks up on you and then boom — he’s the one who cares the most. There are moments where he feels like a rom-com side-character who totally deserved his own spin-off, and I’m not kidding. Also, he probably owns three scented candles he never lights but keeps telling people he will — tiny mystery.

Kim Joo-meok

Joo-meok is the gruff-but-golden soldier-pal who acts like he’s annoyed at everything but would literally jump in front of a bus for his friends. He’s sarcastic, blunt, and somehow the comic relief while also being terrifyingly competent in a crisis — very useful combo. He eats spicy food like it’s a personality trait and swears more elegantly than anyone has a right to. Sometimes he grumbles about responsibility and then brings you a homemade snack at midnight, classic Joo-meok energy.

Park Kwang-beom

Kwang-beom is the bright-eyed baby of the group who looks harmless and then surprises you with this reckless cheerfulness. He’s goofy, a little dramatic, and flush with enthusiastic but slightly misguided bravery — like he’ll volunteer for something wildly beyond his paygrade and smile through it. He collects tiny trinkets for reasons he can’t explain and also cries during movies, loudly, which is delightful. Honestly, his optimism is a contagion and I want to be friends with him immediately.

Geum Eun-dong

Eun-dong is the small human with a huge personality — basically sunshine with a scooter. He’s mischievous, candid in a way that makes adults spill all their secrets, and somehow both heartbreaking and hilarious in equal measure. He draws weird pictures, hoards snacks, and will stare at you with the kind of honesty that makes you rethink your life choices. Also, he can flip from angel to tiny tornado in three seconds flat, so keep a chair nearby.

Ma Yeong-ae

Ma Yeong-ae is the ride-or-die best friend who’s practical, exhausted, and ferociously protective — she could run a corporation and a deli simultaneously. She’s blunt, funny in a deadpan way, and constantly juggling loyalty and exasperation (mostly exasperation, honestly). She cries at commercials only when no one is watching but will karate-chop your problem into shape if you need it. Also, she secretly loves a reality show, which is both comforting and slightly surprising.

Hyeon Myeong-soon

Myeong-soon is the cozy-but-no-nonsense elder who runs the household like it’s a small kingdom and she has the laziest crown ever. She’s warm and wise but also has a tongue sharper than a chef’s knife — she’ll scold you and then feed you soup like it’s all the same thing. She gives the best unsolicited life advice and is low-key a gossip with a heart of gold (don’t tell her I said gossip, she’ll pretend she didn’t hear). Sometimes she hums terribly off-key lullabies and you’re suddenly, impossibly soothed.
