Meet the characters from Sleepy Hollow

Captain Ichabod Crane

Ichabod is this delightfully out-of-time, hyper-rational gentleman who’s always got one eyebrow arched and a cup of tea in hand — except sometimes it’s coffee, because he tries to be modern and fails gloriously. He’s brilliant, methodical, a walking encyclopedia who’ll explain 18th-century etiquette to a demon and then get bewildered by a smartphone (but weirdly good at driving). There’s an aloof, almost academic air about him, but he’s fiercely loyal and kind in these quietly stubborn ways that sneak up on you. Also, he hoards old books and bad jokes, and yes, he will lecture you on manners while saving your life.

Abbie Mills

Abbie is the backbone, the no-nonsense, sharp-tongued force who keeps everything from falling apart — she drinks too much coffee and will absolutely roast you, lovingly-ish. She’s brave to a fault, pragmatic, and carries grief like armor, which sometimes makes her seem cold but she’s soft where it counts (kids, puppies, surly partners). Abbie’s intuition is basically a superpower; she trusts it more than anyone else’s police report and also has surprisingly good taste in music. She can be stubborn, occasionally reckless, and utterly done with mystical nonsense — until she isn’t, and then she’s the first in line.

Frank Irving

Frank is glorious chaos wrapped in a fedora and an unhelpful sense of morality — part mentor, part mess, and wholly unpredictable, like someone who reads philosophy but drinks whiskey at noon. He’s deep, haunted, clever in ways that make you uncomfortable, and kind of a rule-bender (or rule-breaker) when it matters; loyalty is messy with him, and so is love. He’ll say something bleak and then show up with an oddball plan that actually works, which is both infuriating and endearing. Also, he collects ridiculous trinkets and tells terrible puns at the worst times, which somehow balances out the trauma.

Katrina Crane

Katrina is complicated witch-energy personified — elegant, tragically romantic, and terrifyingly competent with spells, but also painfully human and honestly a little dramatic (in a good way). She oscillates between being the haunted, self-sacrificing mother figure and a woman with dark secrets who can be chillingly pragmatic, but you can tell she loves deeply even when she betrays herself. Her fashion sense is impeccable and her tea is probably poison-free most days; also she sometimes speaks like a Victorian poem and then texts like a teenager, which is oddly charming.

Jennifer Mills

Jennifer is the fiercely loyal little sister with ambition and a wicked sense of humor; she runs things and will not apologize for it. She’s practical, tough, and more emotionally savvy than she lets on — she sees people, keeps secrets, and also will give you a savage look that ends arguments. There’s warmth beneath the sarcasm and she surprises you by being both the responsible adult and the one ready to break rules for the people she loves. Also, she has a million small hobbies she never finishes and an impressive ability to find the best takeout at 2 a.m.

Jeremy Crane

Jeremy is that heartbreaking, unpredictable blend of fragile and dangerous — sensitive, impulsive, and constantly wrestling with fate like a sleep-deprived philosopher. He’s sweet in a wounded way, sometimes petulant, sometimes heroic, and you never quite know which version you’re getting; also he cries in the weirdest moments and then vanishes into broody silence. He carries legacy guilt and a weird old-soul vibe, but he also has surprising moments of goofy awkwardness that make him human. Plus, he hoards sentimental junk and will defend his family even when it’s the worst idea.
