Meet the characters from ReBoot
Bob
Bob is the classic plucky hero of Mainframe — steady, stubborn, and annoyingly principled in the best way. He’s a Guardian, so yes, all about protection protocols and doing what’s right, but he’ll also crack a terrible dad joke at the worst moment (and secretly loves cereal at midnight). Has this whole “I must save everyone” vibe, but also gets flustered like a real person when plans go sideways. He’s competent, brave, and kind of a pure dork — in a good way — who will argue philosophy with a sprite and then dive into a firewall without blinking.
Dot Matrix
Dot is boss energy personified — tough, savvy, and somehow running businesses, running a city, and running interference for everyone else all at once. She’s fiercely protective (especially of her brother, and of her profits — she will never apologize for capitalist mothering), dramatic about fashion and yet comfortable ripping out a motherboard with her own hands. Loves tradition and family, but also loves a good bargain and will haggle you into submission while smiling. There’s a softness underneath the steel — don’t get me wrong, she also hoards tiny plushies or maybe it was just one, I can’t remember — but she’s the backbone people lean on.
Enzo Matrix
Enzo is that bright-eyed, can’t-stop-talking kid who makes you remember why adventure is fun; he’s impulsive, loyal, and forever starry-eyed about heroes. He idolizes Bob and wants to be brave in the most sincere, sometimes reckless way — snack-loving, chatty, and prone to jumping into danger with zero chill. He grows so much (and also sometimes forgets to eat, which is kind of worrying), oscillating between adorable kid energy and real, heartbreaking seriousness when things go wrong. If you picture enthusiasm with a stubborn streak and a surprising knack for inspiring people, that’s Enzo.
Frisket
Frisket is the tiny, scrappy dog-of-a-sprite who will literally bite your deadline and wag about it — tiny, ferocious, and absurdly loyal to Enzo. He’s mostly a ball of energy and weird noises (also possibly an emotional support animal for hackers), loves chasing little glows and occasionally eats things he definitely shouldn’t, like emotional boundaries or leftover bytes. Doesn’t speak human words but communicates world-class sass with a tilt of the head and growly barks, and is suspiciously good at showing up at the exact right heroic moment. He’s cute, he’s vicious when needed, and he definitely believes he’s a lot bigger than he is.
Phong
Phong is the wise old techno-sage who knows the code and keeps the balance — calm, measured, a little dad-like, and full of old-school rules. He’s the one who tells you the lore, brews suspiciously calming tea, and has this unshakeable moral center, yet he’ll let you learn by crashing into things sometimes (tough love, but gentle). He’s patient but not a pushover, and yeah he probably loves chess or checkers or some game that involves tiny glowing pieces. Picture kindly librarian crossed with grumpy mentor who secretly likes a good joke about firewalls.
Megabyte
Megabyte is pure big-bad energy — thunderous, strategic, and deliciously dark with a flair for dramatic one-liners and obliterating entire systems. He’s the schemer who wants power and domination, but he’s also cunning and occasionally almost charismatic; you can see why people would follow him even though you shouldn’t. He revels in chaos when it fits his plan, and he’s got this grossly satisfying voice of doom and swagger, with a soft spot for over-the-top monologues. Basically equal parts computer virus, warlord, and really bad influence at parties.
Hexadecimal
Hexadecimal is absolute chaotic glitter — unpredictable, theatrical, and wild, with a mask obsession and a laugh that might be charming or terrifying depending on the day. She’s equal parts tragic and gleeful villainy, flitting between hilarious mischief and moments of genuine vulnerability like someone who forgot which emotion comes next. Loves chaos for art’s sake, hoards eyeballs/ornaments/kind-of-mysterious knick-knacks, and will probably stab the popcorn bowl and cry about it — in a costume. She’s messy and brilliant and gloriously unstable, which is kind of the best and worst combo ever.
