Meet the characters from The Legend of Vox Machina

Keyleth Of The Air Ashari

Keyleth is this adorably earnest storm of nature energy who is trying so hard to be wise and sometimes trips over her own destiny — like literally, I think she once fell into a river mid‑prophecy? She’s gentle but fierce, full of ritual and awkward leadership moments, and somehow everyone trusts her even when she’s panicking about the pronunciation of elemental names. She’ll talk to a cloud like it’s a friend and also lecture you on ecology while brewing tea that tastes like moss (delicious? maybe?). Honestly she’s equal parts mystic, anxious counselor, and surprisingly sarcastic when she’s comfortable — also collects rocks, but maybe that was one time, I can’t remember.

Grog Strongjaw

Grog is a walking mountain with a heart the size of—well—mountains, and he likes to smash things but also bake? No really, he can be terrifying with an axe and then apologize to a sandwich. He’s loud, loyal to the bone, very literal, and somehow every tragic moment turns into a heartfelt growl that you didn’t know you needed. He forgets details but remembers faces and feelings, and has an unsettling but sincere love of pancakes (or was it porridge? same vibe). He’s simple in the best way — honest, warm, and devastatingly brave even when he’s confused.

Scanlan Shorthalt

Scanlan is the chaotic glitter-bard of chaos and feelings, equal parts ego, charm, and surprisingly deep trauma that he hides behind a terrible pun and a pop‑culture reference. He’ll serenade you, sell you a terrible plan, and then write an epic ballad about your grandkids — or at least brag about them — and you’ll both be entertained and, honestly, a little moved. He’s clever, flirty, and wildly creative, but also has moments where he’s suddenly quiet and honest and your heart stops. Also collects hats? Maybe flutes? Definitely a dramatic entrance every time, even if he thinks he’s being subtle.

Vax’ildan Vessar

Vax is the shadow-stepper who looks like he’ll disappear mid-sentence and — plot twist — sometimes he does, which is infuriating and kind of brilliant. He’s guarded, deadly with daggers, and obsessed with keeping the people he loves safe (and also oddly fashion-conscious about capes). He’s moody and poetic in fits, then blunt and practical the next minute, which makes him both infuriating and magnetic — like a storm who also sends sweet texts? He has this weird habit of collecting feathers and brooding over them, or maybe it’s coins, I can’t decide, but he’s definitely dramatic and very, very loyal.

Vex’ahlia Vessar

Vex is the consummate blend of practical assassin and glitter‑obsessed sister who will smirk at danger and then haggle the price down on your soul without blinking. She loves shiny things, is suspicious of everyone until you bring snacks, and is lethal with a bow but also has an entire emotional life she’ll protect fiercely (and loudly). She’s clever, pragmatic, and surprisingly tender with her bear — and will name a pair of boots like they’re a family heirloom, probably. She can be snarky and calculating one moment and devastatingly soft the next; basically the best kind of complicated.

Trickfoot

Trickfoot is that mischievous little wildcard you didn’t know you needed — nimble, talkative, probably has an unnecessarily specific hat collection and a small, illegal hobby involving juggling knives (questionable legality). They’re all about quick feet, quicker jokes, and pulling a trick just to see everyone laugh or groan, sometimes both in the same breath. Loyal in their own chaotic way, they’ll pick your pocket and then apologise with a cupcake, which somehow counts as repentance. Also possibly a liar? Maybe unreliable? But always entertaining and, honestly, pretty brave when it counts.

Percival De Rolo

Percival (Percy) is the painfully brilliant inventor with the polite, cold voice and a private tidal wave of grief and rage under his waistcoat — yes he makes custom pistols and also probably writes poetry at 2 a.m. He’s precise, haunted, and has this dry, cutting humor that sneaks out at the worst possible moments, which is somehow the most Percival thing. He’s emotionally buttoned up but chaotic in his workshop; neat piles of schematics next to half‑burnt tea and a tiny porcelain bear that he swears is not sentimental. He’s tragic and tender and terrifyingly competent, and you get the sense he’s always three steps ahead and also three steps away.

Sylas Briarwood

Sylas is the slick, poisonous sort of charm — aristocratic smile, bad intentions, and a tendency to monologue like he’s auditioning for villainy 101. He’s refined and cruel, polite while doing horrible things, and has that deliciously infuriating aura of someone who thinks they’re artfully above it all. He’ll whisper sweet lies and tell you a bedtime story that ruins your life, but do it in a tuxedo and with a deliciously coiffed hair‑flip. Also, for some reason he keeps a pressed flower in his pocket? Maybe to remember someone? Or to mock them? Ambiguous, like him.
