Dao Ma
Dao Ma is the sort of weathered blade-wielder who seems carved out of mountain stone. He’s stoic, honor-bound, and borderline stubborn about rules — except when he isn’t, like that one time he ditched the plan because of a stray dog (true). Underneath the gruffness there’s this soft, exhausted kindness, the kind that shows up in tiny gestures: mending a sleeve, sharing his last bowl of noodles. He carries a broken watch and hums weird lullabies at night, which is either poetic or just him being sleepy, I can’t decide.
Ayuya
Ayuya is a spark — quick, slippery, and somehow always three steps ahead even when she pretends not to be. She’s playful, dangerous, and has this annoying habit of flicking a coin into the air when she’s thinking. Also wildly loyal to the few people she lets in, which surprises everyone because she looks like she’d prefer a solo life (and also she definitely has a secret stash of sweets). Shu
