About “Doraemon” in a few words:

Doraemon is a popular Japanese manga and anime series created by Fujiko F. Fujio. The series follows the adventures of a robotic cat named Doraemon and his friend Nobita, a young boy living in the suburbs of Tokyo. Doraemon travels back in time from the 22nd century to help Nobita overcome his daily struggles and challenges using his futuristic gadgets. Along the way, they meet a cast of lovable characters, each with their own unique quirks and personalities. The series is known for its heartwarming and comedic moments, as well as its positive messages about friendship, perseverance, and kindness.

Meet the characters from Doraemon

Doraemon

Doraemon is the classic blue robotic cat who lives in a future full of wild gadgets — and yes, that pocket is basically a plot machine. He’s endlessly patient and kind, but also hilariously cowardly about mice (and sometimes small problems in general), which makes him oddly relatable. Obsessed with dorayaki like it’s his life source, he’ll scold Nobita, help him, and then sigh into a snack — like, three emotions in ten seconds. Futuristic tech with very old-school feelings, he’s a comforting weirdo and the kind of character you want as a weird aunt/robot who shows up with solutions and snacks.

Nobita Nobi

Nobita is an adorably disastrous kid: lazy, hopeless at homework, and somehow magnetically unlucky in a heroic, meme-able way. He’s soft-hearted and annoyingly persistent when it matters, the sort of kid who trips, cries, and then somehow pulls off something brave five minutes later. Loves napping, video games, and blaming fate, but also surprises everyone with bursts of courage — really inconsistent but in a cute, authentic way. Basically the emotional core of the gang; you want to shake him and hug him at the same time.

Shizuka Minamoto

Shizuka is the calm, kind friend everyone low-key aspires to be: polite, musical (piano!!), and quietly smart, with a sweetness that’s not saccharine, more like warm tea. She’s gentle but has a backbone — will step in when friends need her, and somehow her voice makes chaos hush a little. Loves baths and flowers and sometimes breaks her own “proper girl” vibe to join in on ridiculous schemes, which is my favorite contradiction. She’s the grounding, steady presence, and also the one who probably cries at rom-coms when she shouldn’t.

Takeshi “Gian” Goda

Gian is the loud, blustering bully-with-a-heart, the guy who’ll roar at you for fun and then show up with lunch if you’re in trouble. He thinks he’s an amazing singer (he is not) and treats the neighborhood like his stage — chaos, big muscles, bigger feelings. Terrible at subtlety, he’ll boss people around but also fiercely protect his friends, and has weird soft spots (mom’s cooking, sentimental trophies, etc.). A blustery mess of pride and loyalty, he’s the kind of character who argues with you and then saves you from a stampede — yes, really.

Suneo Honekawa

Suneo is the flashy show-off kid with endless bragging rights about vacations, toys, and family wealth — the original humblebrag, times ten. He loves being the center of attention and will spin stories so wild you almost want to believe them (until someone fact-checks). Deep down there’s insecurity and a weirdly loyal streak to his squad, plus he has this tiny dramatic side that cries into a plushie when alone (don’t tell him I said that). Essentially, he’s snobby, theatrical, and secretly soft — great for stirring up gossip and awkward group selfies.

Dorami

Dorami is Doraemon’s sunny yellow sister who is annoyingly efficient and somehow both sweeter and stricter than him (like a tidy ray of sunshine with a clipboard). She’s super reliable, loves gadgets, and will actually follow up on plans instead of procrastinating, but also has a mischievous streak — stole a cookie once, true story, tiny rebellion. Less scared of mice (shock!), emotionally practical, and a little bit sassy when pushed, she balances caring with competence. Basically the ideal big-sis robot: helpful, slightly bossy, and absolutely endearing.
