He’s surprisingly stubborn about the people he cares for and will quietly, ferociously protect them. Overall: sweet, intense, and secretly unbeatable once that drill gets turning.

Kiyal is this tiny, earnest ball of sweetness who does everything with big eyes and even bigger loyalty — she somehow manages to be both adorably naive and weirdly perceptive. Quiet but present, a lot of her charm is in the subtle little gestures — giving someone her last snack, sitting very still when things are scary. She’s the sort of character you want to protect and also just let make tea for everyone because she’s calming, maybe. Sometimes she seems fragile, sometimes quietly fierce, and both are true and that’s the point.

Leeron Littner

Leeron is the flamboyant, genius mechanic who will fix your robot and your life in the same afternoon while wearing an absolutely ridiculous outfit, and no one is allowed to question it. He’s equal parts sassy fashionista and mechanical savant — wiggles his hips, adjusts goggles, diagnoses a broken core like it’s a medical consult, and then gives an unsolicited hair-care tip. He flirts with everyone (and everything?) and has an endless stream of pop-culture-esque commentary, but he also has this big, surprisingly warm heart and motherly streak that comes out at 3 AM. Obsessed with beauty and comfort, but also the first to climb into a smoking wreck to rewire a generator; priorities. Also, he cries in the rain sometimes, which is very on-brand.

Rossiu

Rossiu is the practical, heavy-responsibility guy who ages fast because someone handed him a pile of impossible choices and said “good luck.” He’s smart, organized, and terrifyingly calm under pressure until the pressure makes him betray his own kindness for what he thinks is the greater good (ugh, tragic). There’s this constant flip between bureaucratic leader and deeply insecure kid who misses simpler times, and both sides are painfully honest and real. He likes rules, papers, and probably has a secret stash of stationery he’s oddly proud of. He can be infuriatingly sensible and also heartbreakingly human all in one breath.

Nia Teppelin

Nia is this ethereal, glowing presence — impossibly kind, radiant, and a little otherworldly — like someone who walked out of a lullaby and brought sunlight with her. She’s naive at first, blessedly trusting, and then becomes heartbreakingly determined and brave, all while keeping this relentless optimism that’s annoyingly contagious (in the best way). She has quirks like humming to herself and maybe naming inanimate objects (you know she’d have a favorite teacup), and there’s always this sense that she’s both very fragile and secretly very strong. Her arc hits like a comet: soft but devastating, and impossible to forget.

Kunba

Kunba is the loud, gruff, party-loving guy who will punch a wall, laugh, cry, and then barge into the next plan like nothing happened — enthusiastic to a fault. He’s all about muscle and mouth, loves a good brawl and an even better joke, and somehow is wildly protective of his crew (even if he pretends not to be). Tends to have a ridiculous appetite and a collection of scars he probably tells different stories about every time (which is either fascinating or suspicious). He’s brash, occasionally scatterbrained, but utterly reliable when it counts — the big, messy heart of the gang.

Kamina

Kamina is peak confidence incarnate — loud, insanely brave, and the kind of guy who’ll shout a plan before thinking it through and somehow make it work because of sheer force of personality. He wears sunglasses like a philosophy, believes in impossible things very loudly, and serves as everyone’s combustible inspiration (also wears a cape and probably has glitter in his pockets). There’s a reckless sweetness to him; he’s big on heroic speeches and bigger on hugs, and somehow his bravado hides a deep, sincere loyalty that’s almost tender. He can be infuriatingly impulsive and yet also the exact person you’d want on a cliff yelling “Believe in you!” while holding a weird flag. Contradictory but heroic to the last second.

Viral

Viral is the grumpy, honorable fighter from the other side who has this weirdly poetic sense of duty and a seriously complicated face (lots of scowls, some very quiet smiles). He’s rough, dedicated to his code of battle, and oddly noble — like a dog that will bite first, think later, but then come back with flowers (metaphorically). He obsesses over strength and swords and has more pride than sense sometimes, but there’s a slow, clear arc from antagonist to something like a friend, and that shift is kind of the best thing. Has a soft spot for whatever tiny pet or trinket he keeps (maybe a stuffed animal? who knows) that makes him less terrifying and more human.

Yoko Littner

Yoko is the fierce gun-toting woman who can snipe a target from a mile away and also make a mean instant ramen (contradiction: chef and sharpshooter, yes). She’s confident, snarky, and manages to be both a fearsome battlefield presence and the group’s emotional center at different times, which is awesome. Has an iconic outfit and hair-flame energy, but she’s also resilient and tends to take on the emotional labor for everyone (sigh, hero things). Sweet moments: she gives the best pep talks, and will absolutely roast you with one-liners afterward — vulnerable but untouchable and very real.

Boota

Boota is the tiny, grumpy mascot who lives under someone’s hat and is absolutely the emotional weather vane of the crew — mostly mute, mostly sleepy, but present in the best possible way. He looks adorably useless but has this weird competence (like, magically supportive) and an unexpected tolerance for nonsense, which he expresses with a single, exasperated squeak. He hoards snacks, naps in weird places, and somehow is everyone’s secret soft spot, even if he’ll pinch you for disturbing his sleep. Tiny, stoic, and very much underrated as a team member — also, probably can breathe fire if you anger him enough.

Dayakka

Dayakka is the gruff, loud veteran leader who yells like a foghorn and somehow commands respect by sheer volume and stubbornness. He’s a village chief type — fierce, patriotic, dramatic — with a rough exterior and a surprisingly sincere love for his people (and a tendency to get melodramatic about honor). Has the best old-man speeches and the worst timing, will start a rally and then cry in the corner, which is oddly perfect. A bit stubborn, a bit theatrical, and totally dependable when things get ugly; also, likely collects helmets.
