Meet the characters from Masamune-kun’s Revenge
Masamune Makabe
Oh man Masamune is peak Revenge™ energy — obsessed, theatrical, and somehow both petty and noble at the same time. He plans things like a board game champion (too many sticky notes, probably) and then trips over his own feelings five minutes later — iconic. Handsome, smug, secretly soft — like he will stare you down and then cry into a parfait (I am not joking, maybe). He’s ridiculously stubborn but also weirdly thoughtful, especially when it counts, and he loves a dramatic entrance even if it’s unnecessary.
Aki Adagaki
The “Cruel Princess” label fits because she’s sharp, stunning, and will roast you with a smile — but don’t be fooled, she’s a walking contradiction. Cold exterior, meticulously put together, but occasionally spills something embarrassing (tea, tears, or a secret smile) and suddenly you remember she’s human. She’s queen-level proud and oddly childish at times (like princess tantrums?) yet there’s this small vulnerable seam she guards fiercely. Cuts people down and then plants a tiny seed of care — infuriating and oddly magnetic.
Yoshino Koiwai
Yoshino is the mischievous little wild card — Aki’s maid, gossip engine, and emotional barometer rolled into one. She teases everyone like it’s a hobby (and maybe it is), but she’s also the kind of person who remembers weird little details no one else does. Loud, flirty, kind of chaotic, yet when things get real she can be mysteriously grounded — she’ll prank you at lunch and then bring you soup when you’re sick. Also, she has that unreliable-sounding soft spot that makes you go “wait, is she actually sweet?” — yes, yes she is, mostly.
Neko Fujinomiya
Neko is shy, tiny, and adorable but don’t assume she’s helpless — she’s got a surprising backbone and a whole mood. Think catlike in demeanor: quiet, sudden, very focused on what she wants (and sometimes a little dramatic about it). She acts demure but can flip into intense determination or jealousy in a heartbeat — contradictions are her aesthetic. Also collects plushies? Maybe? Definitely likes to stare intensely at things and then get embarrassed about it.
Tae Futaba
Tae is sunshine with occasional lightning — pure, earnest, and honestly the emotional anchor for a bunch of people. She’s the childhood friend who seems simple but actually reads the room like a pro, super supportive and annoyingly good at being loyal. Sometimes she’s goofy and clumsy (drops things, says the wrong name), other times she’s laser-focused and quietly fierce — such a good combo. You get the feeling she forgives too easily and also won’t let you avoid the truth, which is kind of perfect.
Kojūrō Shuri
Kojūrō is the polished, collected type who gives off “prince in the background” vibes — calm, elegant, and slightly theatrical. He’s orderly and maybe a tiny bit showy with how refined he is (ties always straight, posture immaculate), but then he’ll do something bizarrely goofy and you’re like, oh, he’s human. A thoughtful strategist, good listener, and probably hoards pens for no reason (or does he catalog tea blends? I can’t remember). Stoic on the outside, secretly fond of small comforts and surprisingly fierce when defending friends.
Kanetsugu Gasō
Kanetsugu is loud in the best way — brash, loyal, kind of a tough-guy archetype who’d also bake cookies if you asked nicely. He has this lovable bluntness, says what he thinks, and then worries about it later (classic). Protective to a ridiculous degree and also a low-key comic relief, but don’t mistake the jokes for emptiness — he actually cares like big-time. He might be rough around the edges, but he’s the person you want in a brawl and at a karaoke night (possibly with a surprising ballad choice).
