Meet the characters from The God of High School
Mori Jin
Mori is this absolute ball of chaotic sunshine who fights like he’s having the best day of his life — and somehow that’s terrifying because he’s insanely strong. He’s goofy, always grinning, loves taekwondo and rambling about food (ramen forever, probably), but also has this cosmic, almost mythic side that sneaks up on you when things go dark. He can be annoyingly simple-minded in the cutest way, like he forgets birthdays but remembers every opponent’s favorite move, go figure. Also, he talks to himself sometimes? Or is that just everyone else talking to his aura — I can’t tell.
Daewi Han
Daewi is the brooding one who looks like he wants to punch the sun but would actually rescue a kitten from a burning building without thinking. Stoic, fierce, loyal to an unreasonable degree — his moral compass is magnetic and slightly rusty (in a good way), and he has the kind of stubbornness that makes you either love him or hide all sharp objects. He’s a medical student or something? Or pretends to be, I forget, but he’s annoyingly responsible even when he’s sulking. Also, I’m pretty sure he has a secret soft spot for cheesy love songs — yes, really.
Mira Yoo
Mira is icy elegance with a tactical brain wired like a chess grandmaster who also drinks iced coffee at 2 a.m. She’s calm, observant, and will absolutely cut you down with three words and a look, but then she’ll make you soup when you’re sick (very pragmatic about care). There’s a frail, haunted vibe sometimes — like she stores old regrets in her pockets — but she’s also fiercely competent and kind of terrifying when she smiles for real. Slightly contradictory: she collects cute little trinkets (tiny plushies? no one knows) and labels them in perfect handwriting.
Ilpyo Park
Ilpyo is all flash and fire, the kind of guy who yells his feelings and then composes a haiku about it five minutes later. He’s competitive to a fault, a showman in and out of the ring, and will absolutely challenge you to something dumb just to see if you bleed. Underneath the bravado there’s a loyal heart and weirdly refined taste — like he loves classical music but also slams energy drinks at midnight. Oh and he’s probably the one who edits his own dramatic backstory into group chat bios, don’t trust the humility.
Seungchul Baek
Seungchul has that old-guard, quietly terrifying mentor energy — measured voice, deep scars, and a thousand stories in his eyes, most of them probably illegal. He’s experienced, strategic, and annoyingly good at reading people; the kind of calm that makes chaos look like a child’s tantrum. Yet every so often he’ll do something unexpectedly silly (karaoke at 3 a.m., maybe?) and you remember he’s human. He collects vintage watches and then forgets to wear them, which feels exactly like him — thoughtful but distracted.
Manseok Gang
Manseok is big presence, loud laugh, the party in a boxing glove — a clan chief who can grill a whole cow and write a moving apology poem in the same afternoon. He’s warm and territorial, runs his crew with an open hand and a scary stare, and has a soft spot for underdogs that makes him dangerously predictable. Flashy tattoos, sunglasses even at night (why??), but also this weirdly tender side where he leaves tiny notes for people. He’s intense and then suddenly makes you tea like your grandmother, which is the best/worst kind of mixed signals.
Gamdo Go
Gamdo is the slippery, twitchy schemer who reads the room like a spider reads vibrations — always three steps ahead and possibly inventing the steps as he goes. He’s clever, a little shady, a chainsmokey-sarcastic type (maybe not literally smoking? maybe yes?), and you can’t decide whether to trust him or slowly back away. There’s a jokey surface — puns, gambling winks — but he hoards secrets like they’re collector’s cards, which makes him both useful and unnerving. Also collects weird caps? And possibly a childhood habit of naming his socks — who knows.
