Meet the characters from Yuri!!! on Ice
Yuri Plisetsky
Yuri is this tiny, scowling hurricane of talent who acts like he hates everyone but secretly keeps a list of people he respects (don’t tell him I said that). He’s fiery, perfection-obsessed, and will glare you into landing a triple axel — or at least pretend he wouldn’t care, which he totally does. He’s prickly and dramatic and also weirdly fashionable (earrings, leather, the works) and yes he complains about being called Yurio but also kind of owns it? He’s the “I’ll crush you on the ice” type who actually has a soft spot for small animals or old films, depending on mood — unpredictable in the best way.
Victor Nikiforov
Victor is the glittering showman/genius that steal-every-scene energy personified, equal parts mentor and diva, but like, the most lovable diva. He’s flamboyant and effortless and somehow makes brilliance look like a prank (and also will legitimately cry in the middle of practice if the music hits him right). Charming, playful, and devastatingly observant — he can be all sparkle and then quietly know exactly what someone needs, which is maybe why he’s such a good coach. Also he owns a tiny dog that’s basically a co-star and he’ll pose dramatically with it at odd hours, which somehow fits.
Yuri Katsuki
Yuri K. is the shy, anxious cinnamon roll who becomes a different person on the ice — focused, aching, and completely honest. He’s awkward in conversation, overthinks everything (yes, everything), but the moment he skates his whole personality cleans up and tells the truth; it’s kind of heartbreaking and brilliant at once. Devoted, loyal, and secretly stubborn as hell, he’ll work until his fingers cramp to get one jump right, then panic about the costume for an hour. He’s soft-spoken but intense, and you can tell he cares in small, clumsy ways that are way more real than a speech.
Kenjirou Minami
Kenjirou is the quietly solid competitor — composed, polite, and annoyingly precise, the kind who makes clean lines and clean plans. He doesn’t grandstand much but his technique is sharp and reliable, like someone who irons his medals (probably joking, maybe not). He’s the “focused workhorse” type who supports teammates without drama and has a dry sense of humor that sneaks up on you, plus he probably has a calming playlist he refuses to share. Sometimes he surprises people with a random goofy grin or an odd hobby (bonsai? model trains? either could be true), which is why fans low-key love him.
Michele Crispino
Michele is full-on Italian flair — dramatic poses, expressive choreography, and a confidence that almost vibrates (in a good way), but also there’s this undercurrent of insecurity that makes him oddly sweet. He plays to the crowd, flirts with the camera, and treats every routine like a little theatrical festival, yet will sulk like a teenager if someone calls him superficial (he is and isn’t, it’s complicated). Flashy costumes, bold music choices, and a smile that says “watch me” — but then he’ll quietly work on the tiny messy details nobody notices until it’s perfect. Honestly, he’s the sort you’d want on your side in a comeback montage and also the one who’ll steal your gelato if you blink.
