Meet the characters from Dr. Stone

Senku Ishigami

Oh man, Senku is basically science with hair — loud, brilliant, and impossibly smug about chemistry like he invented oxygen (which, to be fair, he kind of did in his own way). He speaks in one-liners and brain-blasts, flips between childlike glee over experiments and laser-focused commander energy, and somehow makes a chalkboard look like a battle plan. He’s annoyingly pragmatic — “that’s stupid, but it might work” — yet also weirdly sentimental about tiny relics, like he keeps a cracked cup for reasons he won’t explain. He claims feelings are inefficient but will absolutely cry at a sunset if you push him, and yes, he hoards cola or ramen or both, I can’t remember, but it’s very on-brand.

Kohaku

Kohaku is the human wrecking ball with a heart of gold, seriously — warrior instincts, ridiculous speed, and the kind of loyalty that makes you want to hug her even when she’s about to punch a boulder. She talks plain, fights loud, and has this weirdly soft side for children and plush things (I swear she has a secret plush collection or maybe I’m projecting). She’s blunt but not cruel, protective to the point of hilariously overdoing it, and also suspiciously curious about new gadgets — like, ancient-tech fangirl? Sometimes she’s very simple, sometimes she’s suspiciously philosophical, it depends on the moon.

Chrome

Chrome is the scrappy self-taught scientist who looks like a kid who raided a library and a junkyard at the same time, equal parts excited and terrified by every experiment. He’s endlessly resourceful, full of “let’s try it!” energy, and has that adorable combo of imposter syndrome and accidental genius — claims he’s copying Senku but then invents something nobody imagined. He’s kind of a fossil nerd? Or gemstone nerd? Also sometimes he’s reckless and impulsive, sometimes painfully cautious; he’s basically a walking hypothesis.

Ginro

Ginro starts off as the classic reluctant sidekick — anxious, kind of cowardly, always hoping for an easy day — but he’s so much more, honestly, with a solid streak of bravery and surprisingly good instincts when it counts. He’s goofy and complains a lot (loudly), yet he’ll throw himself into danger for his friends like it’s nothing, which is sweet and ridiculous. He has this “I didn’t sign up for science” vibe but then ends up being useful in very low-tech ways, plus he totally has a soft spot for snacks and bad puns.

Kinro

Kinro is the gruff older-brother type with a permanent scowl and the patience of a farmer who’s seen too much, but don’t be fooled — he’s steady as a rock and freakishly dependable. He’s protective in a quiet way, actually kind but would never say it out loud, and loves practical things: tools, schedules, and punching through problems. Occasionally he’ll hum off-key while working and it’s both terrifying and charming, like a lumberjack karaoke night that never happened.

Suika

Suika is tiny, adorable, and weirdly brilliant at reconnaissance — also the cutest tiny watermelon-helmet detective you’ll ever see, yes she’s that one. She doesn’t talk much but she notices everything, which makes her both creepy in a good way and invaluable, like a ninja stuffed into summer fruit. She swings between toddler energy and eerie calm, sometimes totally silent and sometimes shouting the most perfectly timed comment, and honestly you can’t not love her.

Gen Asagiri

Gen is the slick, manipulative mind-reader-sorta-guy who could sell you a bridge and then save your soul with a smile, and you’d thank him for it. He’s a showman, loves psychological games, and is endlessly entertaining — part charlatan, part surprisingly loyal ally when it matters, which makes him deliciously unpredictable. He collects secrets like trinkets and has a soft spot for drama (and maybe candy?), and he’ll be the first to crack a joke as the plan collapses.

Kaseki

Kaseki is the old-fashioned artisan with grease under his nails and a poet’s soul that comes out when he talks about tools, and honestly he cries about hammers sometimes (not joking). He’s obsessed with craftsmanship, can make anything if you give him time and weird materials, and is both hilariously proud and painfully humble all at once. He’ll rant about the wrongness of cheap workmanship for three hours and then quietly invent the single most useful device of the era — then pretend it was nothing.

Kokuyo

Kokuyo is the stoic, honorable warrior-turned-elder who gives off serious “silent guardian” vibes and somehow looks ten times older than his actual grumpiness level. He’s duty-bound, morally firm, and has that tragic backstory energy that makes every quiet nod feel heavy with meaning. He’s strict but secretly melts around kids and small acts of kindness, and yes he gardens? Or meditates under trees? Either way he’s low-key soft.

Ruri

Ruri is the calm, dignified priestess with eyes that see everything and a core of iron wrapped in gentleness, and she’s quietly the moral center of her whole community. She’s wise beyond her years, stoic in front of everyone, but sneaks in tiny contradictions like laughing at silly jokes or hiding a hotheaded streak when pushed. She believes in tradition but can be surprisingly open to new ideas if they help her people, and she’s forever linked to this solemn, beautiful sense of duty that never feels fake.
