Meet the characters from Dragon Ball Super
Vegeta
Vegeta is the walking, grumbling embodiment of “proud Saiyan prince” and it’s glorious — basically a scowl with muscles. He’s fiercely competitive, trains like a maniac, and acts like he hates everyone (especially Goku) but will always show up when it counts. He has this weird soft core — kids and family bring it out — even if he’d never admit that out loud, ever. Obsessed with power yet oddly domestic sometimes (I swear I once saw fan art of him gardening ok maybe that’s just me). He bristles at being called a hero but will protect Earth like it’s his stubborn little project.
Goku
Goku is pure, ridiculous joy in humanoid form — enormous appetite, bigger smile, lives to fight and eat (often in that order). He’s bafflingly naive, forgets things like where he left his shoes but remembers how to sense energy across galaxies, which is somehow very Goku. When the mood switches he goes deadly serious and becomes this calm, terrifying fighter — so don’t be fooled by the kid who giggles at food. Also he collects weird friends and seems to trust literally everyone, which is both his superpower and a terrible idea. Honestly, he is sunshine, chaos, and a mouthful of food, and I love him.
Kuririn
Kuririn (yes, tiny bald dude with the six dots) is the best kind of underdog — brave, funny, and more resourceful than you’d expect. He gets knocked around a lot, sure, but he always comes back with a plan or a joke, and he genuinely cares for his crew (and his daughter’s adorable chaos). He can be cowardly in the immediate moment — like, will-not-look-down levels of terrified — yet will still throw himself into hopeless fights, which is the whole paradox of him. He once dated an android and somehow that worked out, which proves the series has a soft spot for weird domestic choices. Also he’s a terrible gambler? Or is that Yamcha… either way Kuririn has a surprising streak of stubbornness.
Beerus
Beerus is the cat-like God of Destruction who is mostly sleepy, easily annoyed, and aggressively into snacks — like a divine food critic with a very short fuse. He will erase planets if you’re rude to him or if the appetizer wasn’t up to par, and yet he’ll also get bored and nap through existential crises, which somehow balances the universe. He has this refined palate and ancient demeanor but is petty in the most adorable way (and yes, he gets sulky if guests don’t bring dessert). Don’t be fooled by the naps — when he fights, it’s brief, precise, and terrifying, and the air would probably taste different afterward. Also, I will never stop thinking he judges our fashion choices.
Whis
Whis is the annoyingly composed, ice-cream-loving angel who makes everything look effortless — he floats, practises smiley buttoned-up menace, and drinks weird cocktails while gently rearranging your life. He’s basically the chill nanny to Beerus and manages to train brash Saiyans with an amused eyebrow, which is peak patience. He also has this playful, slightly condescending humor and a thing for poking at people just to see their reactions (like a benevolent trickster). Don’t be fooled: his powers are absurd and he could probably erase you with a polite clap, but instead he chooses to officiate tea time and time travel shenanigans. I feel like he’s secretly collecting embarrassing stories for the apocalypse? Maybe.
Piccolo
Piccolo is the stoic green golem who will grill you with logic and then become the best reluctant dad ever (seriously, his Gohan soft mode is heartbreaking). He started as a villain and became this weirdly philosophical guardian — meditates a lot, trains harder than anyone, and is suspicious of your motives, which is fair. He hates small talk, loves tactical retreats that lead to dramatic counterattacks, and has surprisingly good taste in music? (I might be projecting). Piccolo is severe on the surface but there’s careful loyalty underneath, like moss on a rock — stubborn and quietly warm. Also he might have a tiny secret garden in his hideout; don’t tell anyone I said that.
Bulma
Bulma is the incandescent brain-engine of the group — whip-smart, louder-than-you, and capable of inventing a spaceship before breakfast while also arguing about shoes. She runs the tech, runs the family, and somehow has a wardrobe that defies every planetary climate, which makes zero sense but I bow down. She’s dramatic and merciless and will kick literal intergalactic ass with a scowl, but she also cries into her coffee and worries about scarf patterns, which makes her human. Her relationship with Vegeta is peak “will they/won’t they” that turned into “oh look they have a life,” and she absolutely keeps the team together in chaotic domestic ways. Also she hoards gadgets and occasionally speaks like three languages at once when excited.
