Meet the characters from InuYasha
Inuyasha
Inuyasha is the classic grumpy half-demon with a heart that melts if you poke it (which he would deny loudly). He’s loud, impulsive, and will tackle anything that moves — or sometimes nothing at all, because naps are sacred to him. Tessaiga-wielding, stubborn, jealous in the most adorable way, and somehow fiercely loyal even when he pretends not to care. He loves simple pleasures like fish and arguing, and yes, he’s surprisingly sentimental about stupid little things.
Kagome Higurashi
Kagome is the modern shrine-girl tossed into feudal chaos who somehow manages to be the emotional center of the whole gang. She’s smart, kind, scarily good with a bow, and also very human — forgetful about homework but never about people’s feelings. Has this weird knack for grounding everyone (and yelling at Inuyasha) while also still being a teenager who misses school lunches. She’s brave and stubborn and sometimes indecisive in a movie-drama way, but always shows up when it matters.
Miroku
Miroku is the smooth-talking monk who sells you charm and nonsense in equal measure (yes, he’s pervy, yes, it’s part of the schtick, but he’s also an actual hero). He has that cursed wind tunnel in his hand so he’s both cursed and compassionate — a total contradiction: greedy for donations, generous with his life. He’ll flirt his way out of danger and then calmly risk himself for his friends like it’s no big deal. Also, he’s annoyingly pragmatic and philosophical sometimes, and I love him for it.
Sango
Sango is the demon-slaying badass with a Hiraikotsu big enough to be a personality trait all on its own. She’s stoic and fierce, but also famously tender toward her little brother and the people she loves (and yes, she secretly likes cute things — don’t tell). She carries grief and loyalty in equal measure and is probably the most reliable glue the group has. Her quiet strength hides flashes of sarcasm and deep, stubborn tenderness — very endearing, very scary in battle.
Shippo
Shippo is the tiny fox kid who is mostly mischief, a little self-pity, and a whole lot of comedic timing. He’ll transform into ridiculous shapes to help or to get laughed at (both happen). He’s brave-ish when it counts, clingy for affection, and constantly trying to prove he’s more than the cute sidekick — sometimes succeeding, sometimes getting roasted. Also adorable, slightly dramatic, and forever chasing approval (and snacks).
Kirara
Kirara is the two-tailed nekomata who alternately looks like a fluffy kitten and a gigantic fiery mount — mood swings, but make them feline. She’s silent and efficient, a fierce protector who will purr one second and cleave demons the next. Loyal to Sango in a way that makes you go “aw” but also slightly terrifying if you’re an enemy. And somehow always looks like she’s judging your life choices while being the best travel buddy ever.
Sesshomaru
Sesshomaru is the epitome of regal coldness — emotion in small doses, dignity in large ones — and dramatically overpowered. He’s elegant, aloof, a bit elitist about everything (especially his sword collection), but also, plot twist, slowly developing a weird protective streak. Likes moonlight, disdainful of humans, but he has this baffling soft spot that sneaks up on you (Rin, obviously). Basically perfection with a smirk and a very complicated emotional interior.
Rin
Rin is the small, sunny human who quietly rearranges Sesshomaru’s entire personality just by being herself — cheerful, brave, and way tougher than she seems. She’s gentle and curious, but also stubborn and practical in that kid-sort-of-way; she’ll share an apple and then tell you where to go. She makes you forget the grim parts for a second and then proves she’s not fragile in any meaningful way. Somehow both innocent and stubbornly wise, like a tiny hurricane of charm.
Koga
Koga is the loud, fast wolf-demon who is equal parts bravado and actual loyalty — he’ll roar first and think later (which is fun). He’s proud, territorial, and hopelessly romantic in a “I’ll fight for you and then be embarrassingly devoted” kind of way. Also a bit of a show-off and a little petulant, but his fierce tribe-love is real and somehow deeply honorable. Speaks with big gestures and even bigger feelings.
Kagura
Kagura is the wind-winged puppet of chaos who flirts with cruelty and ballet-dances into sadness — gorgeous, dangerous, and complicated. She’s playful and manipulative but also achingly desperate for freedom, which makes every smile kind of heartbreaking. Loves drama, fashion, and theatrics (feathered outfits, obviously), yet you can see the tiny, tired person behind the jokes. She’ll charm you, stab you (metaphorically or not), and then make you oddly sympathetic to her story.
