He smells things like it’s a superpower (which, like, it is?) and remembers every little thing about people, even the tiny sad stuff he shouldn’t be carrying but does anyway. He’s stubborn to the point of adorable, cries at the drop of a hat but will absolutely not back down when someone needs him. Also, weirdly domestic? He gives the best weirdly practical advice about soup or coal or whatever, while humming funeral-dance songs and looking like a cinnamon roll.

Nezuko Kamado

Nezuko is this wild mix of “sleepy little kid” and “stone-cold demon who will absolutely disembowel you if you try anything,” which is the best contradiction ever. She doesn’t talk (well, she could maybe if she wanted to?) but communicates a thousand things with one look and the way she tilts her head. She’s tiny and ferocious and somehow protective of strangers — plus she fits in a box for long trips like a cat (seriously, how does she do that?), and then pops out and wrecks everything. Also, melts at sweets? Or is that just sugar substitutes — honestly don’t quote me but she’s oddly soft sometimes.

Zenitsu Agatsuma

Zenitsu is a hot, nervous mess who will scream, faint, cry, and profess undying love in the course of one minute, and then become the most terrifying lightning sword boy the next — asleep, of course. He’s dramatically allergic to bravery until unconsciousness, which somehow unlocks his absolute peak skills, because of course it does. He’s ridiculously loyal, hopelessly romantic (and slightly delusional), but also has a tiny brave streak that keeps surprising everyone. Also he hears things no one else can and will judge your taste in music while trembling.

Inosuke Hashibira

Inosuke is chaos with a boar mask and I love him — loud, hyper-competitive, and convinced his way is the only way, until he sniffs out a different path and then tries to bite it. Raised by boars (probably), he’s as animalistic as he is surprisingly thoughtful about…stuff? Like, he’ll scream and charge and then go quiet and stare at a sunset and you’re like, who taught him poetry? He’s tactile, weirdly sensitive about criticism, and competitive to the point of sculpting insults into art. Also he has weirdly delicate toes? Or that’s what someone said once; either way, he’s a walking contradiction and I live for it.

Kanao Tsuyuri

Kanao is the ultimate quiet storm — calm, collected, and decision-averse (coin flip girl, anyone?) because feelings used to be too heavy, so she outsourced choices to a coin. She watches everything with eyes that miss nothing and can switch from frozen observer to lethal in a blink, which is terrifyingly efficient. She’s small, soft-voiced, and keeps a secret stash of…flowers? little trinkets? — definitely something cute and slightly out-of-character for someone so disciplined. Also, don’t be fooled by the composed exterior; when she finally reacts it’s like a delayed explosion of feelings, and you’ll want tissues.

Genya Shinazugawa

Genya is grumpy, tattooed, and walks around like he’s allergic to everyone — but somehow that rough exterior hides an absolutely stubborn heart of gold (buried under layers of scowl). He’s got this weird power thing where he uses demon parts (yes, weird and gross, I know) to get stronger, which makes him both dangerous and a little tragic. He’s jealous, blunt, and not great at soft talk, but he does care — loudly, awkwardly, and often in the form of punching. Also he probably hoards socks or something small and sensible like that; it fits his style of unexpected domesticity.
