Meet the characters from Knightfall

Landry

Landry is the beating, stubborn heart of Knightfall — all honor and bruised romanticism, the kind of guy who’d charge into a hundred fights and then write a letter about it (probably with a quill dipped in remorse). He’s endlessly loyal, sometimes to a fault, and haunted by Jerusalem in a way that makes him noble and kind of wrecked at the same time. He prays and plans and then surprises everyone by being terrifyingly effective with a sword — also, I’m pretty sure he hums under his breath before battle, which is oddly adorable. Leader material, tragic hero vibes, and annoyingly magnetic; you want him to win and also to shut up and rest.

Gawain

Gawain is brash, glorious, and a little cocky — the show’s hot-headed storm cloud who thinks honor looks good on him (and it does, annoyingly). He craves glory and attention but also has this weird, stubborn streak of genuine loyalty, like he’d stab you after arguing philosophy with you for an hour. He’s impulsive, dramatic, and sometimes the best kind of reckless — also somehow reads strategy books when no one’s looking, which I did not expect. Basically: ego, skill, and a soft spot he pretends not to have — very dramatic, very fun.

Tancrede

Tancrede is the solid rock-friend you want in a trench — dependable, gruff, and practical, the “do the job” guy who’ll scold you then save your life without a second thought. He’s calmer than the others but not boring; family man energy, kind of weathered by war and tired in a good way, like someone who tells bad jokes and means them. He claims he hates politics but is suspiciously good at navigating it (sneaky strategist under a beard of sarcasm). Loyal to a fault, morally flexible when it counts, and also probably sneaks sweets when no one is watching — contradictions are his thing.

William De Nogaret

De Nogaret is slippery, brilliant, and deliciously ruthless — lawyer, plotter, and basically the series’ favorite manipulator who treats power like a chessboard. He plays long games and never looks flustered, though every now and then you glimpse something colder than ambition, like he genuinely enjoys outsmarting people (which, honestly, scary). He’s anti-clerical but not above using faith as a weapon, and he writes nasty little notes with a perfectly steady hand, if that gives you a sense of his vibe. Quiet menace, polished cruelty, the kind of villain you can’t help admiring a little.

King Philip

King Philip is regal, hungry, and terrifyingly pragmatic — the monarch who will smile to your face and dismantle your world by dusk, all in service of the kingdom (or his pride). He’s political, paranoid, and brilliant at playing people against one another, but also has weird domestic moments where he actually seems almost…human? (fleeting, I swear). He loves control — chessboards, hunts, treaties — and has a temper that can erupt like bad weather; very charismatic, very dangerous. Absolute power vibes, complex ruler energy, and somehow you can see both a father and a tyrant in the same man.
