Meet the characters from Chainsaw Man
Denji
Denji is like pure, unfiltered momentum — messy, hungry, and terrible at chill but somehow very endearing. He blends the simplest, most childish wants (money, hot food, someone to notice him) with sudden chainsaw carnage and a surprisingly sticky optimism. He’s impulsive and kind of gross about snacks, but also this weirdly loyal, protective dude who gets into ridiculously dangerous situations and grins through most of it. Totally selfish sometimes and also shockingly self-sacrificing other times; it doesn’t make sense but that chaos is literally his whole vibe.
Makima
Makima is icy control personified, so composed you get vertigo just listening to her speak. She runs people like a company and smiles like it’s a policy — elegant, terrifying, and always three moves ahead. There’s a cultivated benevolence to her that reads more like benevolence-with-terms-and-conditions, and she’s disturbingly good at making you want to do what she says. Also tiny, weird detail that maybe she likes neat little teacups? Or maybe that’s just a rumor she planted, honestly could be either.
Aki Hayakawa
Aki is the team’s grim steady hand — stoic, rule-obsessed, and permanently tired in a way that suggests tragedy and responsibility collided. He hunts with cold efficiency and a sharp moral compass, but under the scowl is this dumbly sentimental streak he will never admit to. Revenge fuels him more than anything but he also does small, awkward acts of care (like, rescuing something small at midnight) which ruins his whole intimidating aesthetic. He says he hates sweets and shows no emotion, then proceeds to steal everyone’s snacks at 2 a.m., so like, make up your mind, Aki.
Power
Power is pure, loud, selfish joy wrapped in chaotic energy — she’s brash, bloody, and brilliantly inconsiderate in the best possible way. She hoards things, screams about trivial injustices, and will absolutely bite you if you look at her wrong, but she’s also unexpectedly ferocious in defending people she claims not to like. She oscillates between brat and soft-sided weirdo: demands praise for basic kindness, then acts like she never cared at all, which is somehow adorable. Also she insists she hates rules but secretly has a tiny ritual when she’s nervous — mismatched socks? a lucky spoon? — pick one, Power, don’t keep us guessing.
