Also, he’s suspiciously sentimental about old rings and once cried over a ruined scarf, which is adorable and confusing.

Tails

Tails is the brilliant, awkward heart of the group — genius inventor, pilot, and eternal second banana in the best way possible. He is super smart, modular brain power everywhere, but still gets nervous and uses a lot of “um”s, which makes him endearing not annoying, honestly. Loyal to a fault; will build a rocket for you before breakfast and then over-apologize for leaving the bolts on the kitchen table. Oh and he can fly, obviously, though sometimes he forgets to pack snacks and blames gravity.

Amy Rose

Amy is a whirlwind of pink determination — bubbly, dramatic, and secretly terrifying when she sets her mind on something. She swings a giant hammer like it’s a teacup (don’t ask how that works), and she mixes obsessive romance vibes with surprisingly sharp strategy when it matters. She’ll make a glittery plan and then batter it into action with equal enthusiasm, cries at sappy things but also grapples with villains, sometimes in a dress, sometimes in armor — both look fine. Also collects stickers; has too many stickers, and denies nothing.

Knuckles

Knuckles is the muscle with a surprisingly soft side — stoic, proud, and a little slow to trust but loyalty is his religion. He guards things (ancient, mysterious things, mostly) and punches problems into submission, yet will stoically tutor someone on how to make a campfire, because he’s not all fists, he’s surprisingly domestic sometimes? He gets jealous, is blunt, hates intruders, but will also make a weirdly philosophical comment about sunsets that leaves everyone like, “Where did that come from?” And yeah, he absolutely has strong opinions about the correct way to crack open a coconut.

Sticks the Badger

Sticks is chaos theory embodied—wild-eyed, paranoid, and brilliant in a survivalist, slightly unhinged way. She distrusts technology, claims it wants to eat your brain, and then lovingly knits a tiny hat for a robot she insists is “probably plotting” (she insists, but also pet names it). She’s fierce, oddly wise in a way that doesn’t sound wise until it does, and will karate-kick your assumptions into next Tuesday while lecturing you about map symbols. Also collects conspiracy board strings and snacks, not necessarily in that order, and will absolutely insist the snack is totally safe.
