About “iZombie” in a few words:

iZombie is a television series that premiered on The CW network in 2015 and ran for five seasons. The show is a blend of horror, comedy, and drama, and follows the life of a medical resident named Liv who becomes a zombie and works in a morgue to satisfy her hunger for brains. With each brain she consumes, she gains the memories and personality traits of the deceased, and uses this knowledge to help solve murders with the help of her friends, family, and fellow zombie, Major.

Meet the characters from iZombie

Olivia Moore

Olivia is a total firecracker — brilliant, sarcastic, and somehow both exhausted and hyper at all times. She’s a medical examiner who eats brains (I know, iconic) and that weird job makes her weirdly empathetic, like she learns people by digesting them — literally — which is somehow gross and poetic. She loves bad movies, even worse coffee, never sleeps enough, and will save your life while simultaneously making a snarky comment about your haircut. Also, she collects postage stamps? No wait, that was a magazine; either way she has tiny hobbies that don’t add up and that’s kind of perfect.

Clive Babineaux

Clive is the steady anchor — detective, moral compass, and the guy who can see through nonsense even when he’s sleepy or annoyed. He’s calm on the surface but carrying a lot (family, responsibility, the weight of weird zombie cases), and he has this dry humor that sneaks up on you. He’s stubbornly fair, protective, and occasionally sings terrible pop songs in his car when he thinks no one’s watching (he does it very badly). There’s a gentleness there that sneaks into his detective work, like he’s solving crimes to make the world a little less messy for everyone — even if he grumbles the whole time.

Major Lilywhite

Major is the lovable mess of idealism and panic, the ex-fiancé who tries so hard to be the Good Guy and then trips over his own emotions. He’s a public health kinda dude, very earnest, sometimes blind to his own flaws, but deeply loyal once you’re in his orbit — and dramatic in a subtle, slow-burn way. He worries a lot, drinks probably too much coffee, and has a bizarre soft spot for reality TV (don’t judge him). He can be a doofus and also a hero, often at the same time, which makes him oddly endearing.

Ravi Chakrabarti

Ravi is the mad-genius-with-a-heart, the brilliant, sleepless scientist who’s equal parts lab coat and enthusiastic dad to zombies. He’s obsessed with research (like, nerdy journaling levels), fiercely compassionate, and will fix things with his brain and a ridiculous amount of caffeine; also he keeps a small army of lab coats and possibly a pet cactus. He’s awkward in the best way — moral, curious, a little melodramatic about science papers — and somehow will always make you feel safer while explaining brain pathology in excruciating detail. He’s supportive, sarcastic when needed, and kind of a chaos-organizer (organized chaos, that’s his vibe).

Peyton Charles

Peyton is the stylish, sharp-witted scene investigator who’s softer than her eyeliner and tougher than she looks. She’s deeply empathetic, brilliant at seeing the hearts of messes (emotional messes and literal crime scenes), and runs a bar which doubles as a place of refuge and conspiracy plotting. She’s artsy, listens to obscure indie bands and then cries about them, and also will physically take you down if you mess with her friends. There’s this cool veneer but she’s got a big, chaotic soul and a surprising collection of novelty mugs (some of which are probably cursed).

Blaine DeBeers

Blaine is the showy, scheming entrepreneur-slash-bad-guy with candy-colored charm and a very questionable moral compass. He’s charismatic, selfish, smart, and loves making deals (and doughnuts? like, sometimes he’s a baker with a soft spot for pastries and also the most terrifying person in the room). He’s funny and cruel in equal measures, and somehow you root for him a little — not that you’d admit it — because he’s strangely vulnerable under that flashy suit. Also he collects weird hats and will apologize awkwardly sometimes, which makes zero sense but is also him.

Don E.

Don E. is this weird little wildcard — streetwise, loud, a bit grimy in the best possible way, and always up to something that’s either a brilliant hustle or a bad idea. He’s salty, memorable, and kind of a walking chaos agent who can make you laugh and then freak you out five seconds later. He loves attention (obviously), has one soft spot (which may be a pigeon? or a sandwich? details fuzzy), and everybody treats him like the guy you never know whether to trust but secretly enjoy in the background. He’s petty, surprising, and somehow strangely loyal when it counts — though he’ll deny it loudly and then text you at 2 a.m. anyway.
