Meet the characters from Peanuts

Charlie Brown

Charlie Brown is the eternal underdog and somehow the most relatable kid in the Peanuts gang — awkward, earnest, always trying again even when everything goes wrong. He’s the reluctant leader of the pack, terrible at baseball (and yet he never stops showing up), and he has a suspiciously personal feud with a kite-eating tree. Quietly brave in a way that sneaks up on you, he worries about everything and somehow still cares more than anyone else. Also he’s prone to sudden bursts of optimism followed by absolute, TEARFUL existential dread, which is honestly part of his charm.

Lucy Van Pelt

Lucy is the bossy, brilliant pain-in-the-neck who runs a psychiatric booth like it’s a business and the world owes her exact change. She’s blunt to the point of cruelty sometimes (football-pulling habit included), but she has tiny slivers of softness that pop up when you least expect them — usually in private, maybe. Loves being in charge, hates being ignored, and will loudly explain how you’re wrong even if she’s clearly wrong herself (don’t tell her I said that). Also she’ll yank your football away and then offer unsolicited life advice with a scowl and maybe a candy once in a blue moon.

Snoopy

Snoopy is the charismatic, wildly imaginative beagle who spends half his life on top of a doghouse pretending to be a World War I flying ace and the other half writing melodramatic novels on a typewriter. He’s smug, insanely confident, and somehow too dignified for his species — he dances, he daydreams, and he’s a surprisingly good friend (even if he eats too much and ignores commands). He doesn’t use many words but his inner life is a Broadway show, complete with costumes and dramatic poses. Also he’s suspiciously gullible when it comes to treats and occasionally plays dumb to avoid chores — adorable and infuriating.

Linus Van Pelt

Linus is the little philosopher with a security blanket (yes, that one) who somehow balances cosmic wisdom and toddler-level attachment in the most adorable way. He’ll quote scripture or stare deeply at the sky and then immediately suck his thumb like nothing happened — contemplative and comfort-seeking at once. Loyal, thoughtful, and stubbornly orthodox in his beliefs about the Great Pumpkin (don’t mock the hope), he’s the emotional anchor of the group. Also he can be annoyingly patient and defiantly weird in a way that makes you trust him instantly.

Peppermint Patty

Peppermint Patty is the scrappy, athletic tomboy who stomps through life with a swagger, calls adults “sir” sometimes herself (no, wait, that’s Marcie), and sleeps through class like it’s a competitive sport. She’s confident to the point of bluster — a natural captain, terrible at school, totally sincere, and somehow always on the verge of accidentally falling in love with everything. She gets frustrated easily, is stubborn as a mule, but will defend her friends like a gladiator. Also she’s prone to calling people embarrassing nicknames and then insisting she’s “just practical,” which is both honest and chaos.

Marcie

Marcie is the soft-spoken, nerdy heart who calls Peppermint Patty “sir” (constantly), thinks in books and small, precise gestures, and is quietly devastating with a single earnest comment. She is polite and a little awkward but also extremely loyal, and she tends to be the voice of calm logic — except when she’s awkwardly confessing feelings, which she does in the most adorably awkward way. Smart and kind and simultaneously painfully shy and blunt, she’ll correct your grammar and then hand you a heart-shaped note. Also she sometimes acts like she’s straight out of a Victorian novel and other times like a goofy best friend who brought snacks.
