About “Tangled” in a few words:
Disney’s animated adventure follows Rapunzel, a spirited young woman with 70 feet of magical hair, as she longs to see the world beyond the tower where the deceptive Mother Gothel has kept her hidden for most of her life. Her journey changes when she meets a charming thief named Flynn Rider, and the two set off on a path full of danger, discovery, and the kind of love and self-worth that can transform everything.
Meet the characters from Tangled
Rapunzel
Okay, Rapunzel is just pure, bright chaos in the best way — endlessly curious, ridiculously hopeful, and somehow both totally naive and secretly very, very brave. She paints everything (and I mean everything — like, there are probably murals on the ceiling of her brain), carries a frying pan like it’s a national treasure, and will literally sing at the top of her lungs about lanterns at 3 AM. She gets adorably obsessive about tiny projects — lists, jars, plants — but then forgets where she put her scissors; it’s cute and infuriating. Also, she has this knack for seeing people — like, really seeing them — which is why she turns chaos into a kind of magic that’s mostly hugging and glitter.
Flynn Rider
Flynn is the consummate lovable rogue: slick, sarcastic, and always ready with a grin that says “I’ve got a plan” even when the plan is a terrible idea. He brags like a show-off (because he is), but the soft moments sneak out — like when he accidentally cares more than he intended, or when he pretends he doesn’t pronounce his real name, Eugene, like it matters. He’s a thief with a surprisingly modern conscience, has impeccable timing for zingers, and will absolutely adopt a stray animal if it looks at him the right way. Also, he has this weirdly specific obsession with satchels and dramatic exits, which I can’t decide if that’s charming or exhausting.
Mother Gothel
Mother Gothel is the ultimate manipulative diva — she’s silky, scary, and incredibly petty, with that “I love you so much” tone that actually means “you owe me.” She’s obsessed with youth and beauty to the point of decorating her life around it (candles, mirrors, very dramatic drapes) and will happily gaslight anyone while sipping tea like it’s a spa day. There’s a theatrical, almost sultry charm to her that makes you believe — briefly — that she’s a weirdly devoted mother figure until you remember she locks people in towers, so, yes, red flag. Also, she can be bizarrely tender in tiny moments, which makes her villainy feel extra personal and kind of creepier, like she’s wearing kindness as a costume.
Maximus
Maximus is the horse who treats law and order like a sacred quest and takes everything personally — absolutely relentless, totally dignified, and secretly hilarious when he stumbles on his own hooves. He’s fiercely loyal (to a fault), has a nose for tracking down fugitives and snacks alike, and acts like a one-horse military unit with a very specific code of honor. He’s all stare-downs and hoof-stomps but will nap in a sunbeam five minutes later, which is the best contradiction ever. Also, he is suspicious of everything Flynn does but will definitely rescue you if it involves justice… or carrots.
