About The Legend of Hei

Searching for somewhere to belong, he meets other spirits in a world of fantasy, then is forced to travel with Wuxian, a Guild Executor pursuing Feng Xi. Their uneasy journey brings Xiaohei face-to-face with competing views of humans and spirits—and gives the little black cat plenty to reconsider as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery.
The Legend of Hei Character Profiles
Wuxian
Wuxian, also known as Infinity, is a powerful human Executor for the Spirit Guild. Stoic and patient, he meets suspicion from spirits without returning it as hostility. His quiet composure and compassionate outlook shape his approach to conflict, while his actions offer a steadier kind of guidance to Xiaohei than force or lectures would. As their journey unfolds, Wuxian becomes a key presence in Xiaohei’s changing understanding of humans and spirits.
Xiaohei Luo
Luo Xiaohei is a young cat spirit whose forest home is destroyed by human development, sending him in search of a new place to belong. Innocent and impressionable, he readily attaches to those who show him kindness, yet his loyalty does not erase his independence. His journey alongside Wuxian exposes him to perspectives that complicate his initial distrust of humans. Xiaohei’s developing judgment becomes central to the story’s exploration of coexistence between humans and spirits.
Feng Xi
Feng Xi is a displaced spirit who offers other uprooted beings a sense of shelter and solidarity. Warm and protective on the surface, he is driven by grief over human expansion and the loss of a home. That pain hardens into deep resentment, making him increasingly calculating in pursuit of a place where spirits can live freely. His conflict with Wuxian and his bond with Xiaohei bring competing ideas about protection, belonging, and coexistence into sharp focus.
Nezha
Nezha works to maintain order alongside the Spirit Guild and is known for immense confidence in his fighting abilities. Blunt and hot-tempered, he speaks directly and has little patience for bureaucracy or being looked down upon. He is eager to meet trouble head-on rather than wait on the sidelines, giving him a forceful presence among the Guild’s allies. His confidence can make him an effective front-line presence, though his impatience sometimes clashes with more measured approaches.
