Meet the characters from Ranking of Kings

Bojji

Okay, Bojji is the kind of tiny, stubborn heart-stealer who makes you want to cry and cheer at the same time — he’s soft, impossibly earnest, and somehow braver than half the room. He can’t hear, he’s small, and people underestimate him constantly, which he either shrugs off or stomps on with a smile, depending on the day. Loves stuffed animals, loves rice balls (or was it dumplings? I can’t remember but definitely something squishy), and will fiercely protect anyone who calls him friend. He’s awkward and adorable and also ridiculously determined to be a real king, which is the sweetest contradiction ever. You just want to hug him and also hand him a sword because he’ll figure it out, promise.

Daida

Daida is loud, dramatic, and always two steps away from starting either a parade or a war — honestly both at once sometimes. He acts like the world revolves around him (and maybe it should?), but underneath the bluster there’s this bubbling mess of insecurity and an actual hunger to be seen as great. He’ll order the biggest, spiciest thing on the menu and then complain about it five minutes later, the classic “I’m fine” vibe with fireworks thrown in. Terrifyingly charismatic, prone to tantrums, but also weirdly vulnerable when no one’s looking — like a king-in-training who forgot how to be small.

Hiling

Hiling is a wolf in silk — sharp, tactical, protective, and absolutely devoted to her chosen ones in a way that feels like sunlight and a cliff at the same time. She’s the glue and the sword both; ruthless when she needs to be, but she’ll also knit you a scarf? (Definitely bakes something occasionally, or so I’ve decided.) Obsessed with strength and legacy, but quietly sentimental about little rituals — tea before battle? maybe. She’s the kind of boss who would stare you down into competence and then bring you an over-the-top snack because she cares, gruffly.

Domas

Domas is the giant, steady, very-loud heart of the court — you know the type: enormous presence, laugh that shakes the room, but somehow a soft center if you look closely. He’s fiercely loyal, boringly dependable in the best way, and slightly bewildered by court politics (like please stop whispering, just say it!). He’ll choke up at a simple song and then punch a boulder for fun, which is somehow both annoying and wonderful. Also, he absolutely hates mushrooms? Or loves them. Memory is fuzzy but his emotions are never fuzzy.

Bebin

Bebin is peak dramatic courtier — flamboyant, opinionated, and expertly petty, like a walking, talking perfume commercial with a dagger. He lives for fashion, gossip, and making sure everyone knows he’s present (entrances matter), yet occasionally surprises you by being genuinely loyal when push comes to shove. He has a million little affectations (one finger up when pondering, possibly an umbrella at all times) but will turn ferociously serious in a heartbeat. Kind of selfish but in that weird lovable villain way where you roll your eyes and then defend him to strangers.

Kage

Kage is ninja-cute chaos wrapped in deep loyalty — shadowy, quick, and constantly pulling pranks but also the one who will carry your emotional baggage without a word. He’s practical, a little gross (like, enjoys odd snacks and strange hobbies), and has this deadpan humor that sneaks up on you until you’re laughing inappropriately. Silent protectiveness is his brand; he’ll vanish into the roof and reappear with popcorn or a perfectly timed quip, depending on mood. He’s a weird mix of fierce nostalgia and street-smart mischief, exactly the friend you never knew you needed until he saves your life and then steals your hat.
